battlefront expanded edition mod brings tons of new content to the game, such as new cross eras and hunt modes and lots of new custom maps build into the stock game as if the game shipped with them. new battlefront 2 map conversions that will be in the 1.0 version of the mod will be alzoc 3 blizzard kothlis sea haven. main new eras are as follows : empire vs droids empire vs republic rebels vs droids rebels vs republic rumble conquest clone wars xl galactic civil war xl hunt clone vs clones rebels vs rebels droids vs droids empire vs empire not all eras will be present on all maps but stock maps have all but the cross faction eras. added clone wars to hoth and endor and galactic civil war to geonosis. this mod also includes the campaign mod as separate campaigns so you will no longer have to overwrite them trough addon. planned features for 2.0 version of the mod : custom galactic conquest scenarios more battlefront 2 conversions more new custom maps made by me and much more !
I've never seen this much content in a mod before! These maps are next level
I was about to give 9/10 but I'll give 10 because it's a ton of work to put all these things together. So this pack actually brings tons of fun stuff to the game. The plethora of game modes and side cross fighting, the maps, the hunt mode that i really love, all these additions are really making it so much fun. Although some of them are far from perfect but we can't expect too much from individual modders. Epic work, thanks for putting this together.
This mod has made SWBF1 a 100 times better. I've been playing it every day for weeks now and it's still a lot of fun
There is nothing to add to this. A colossal, must have mod for the original Battlefront. If you want to play BF1 now, then install this mod.
Although I had much trouble installing it on a French, CD version first, I made it to work with the much appreciated help of the mod's authors, but I'm sure this will be fixed later, and I can now provide tips on how to make it work if you have trouble :)
This is what can happen with dozens of maps, many new cross faction eras and game modes, new campaigns, etc. Congratulations to the author, mod of the year !
Excellent Mod
A great Mod to the classic BF1
The greatest thing about this mod is that it truly shows potential for BF1 modding. Being able to play different eras and modes (more or less) is a dream come true. However, I am not the intended audience for some of these decisions; I don't really care about cross-faction combat, so I feel that all of those extra "eras" (like Clones vs Empire, Rebels vs CIS, etc) are wasting space that could be used for other eras.
A lot of the custom maps, while looking somewhat plain and basic, do however pose some interest strategic scenarios. For example, there's this map that's basically just a wide, open, empty plain with a random assortment of buildings in the middle. I thought it would be dull, but then I entered the buildings and saw a dozen Rebel tanks suddenly crowd through the opening in the wall! That was some intense anti-vehicular combat in such a tight space! However, if maps will be bundled with this package, then I think that there should be a vote to discuss which ones are used, or otherwise limit choices to the "Best of" maps. As someone who played hundreds of BF1 mods and collected a list of the best, I do have some ideas for what I would like to see included.
Speaking of "Best of" maps, I love that Sereja's Umbara is included here, and that it has its own Hunt mode. Sereja has a lot of maps that come with additional "eras" that can be switched in and out. If this map can include all of those eras, then that would be an amazing convenience.
I do hope to see custom heroes in the future (and maybe remove some of them from Hunt or change them). Hell, even a new Hero Assault would be fantastic!
