Very lovely as we know it from you folks the textures are A+.. :)

The lights illuminating the ship name are looking odd and to repetitive though.

Also not sure about the fact that each battle star gets it's own textured name. Some old hw2 mod once managed to make single letters be build able for 1ru and these letters were assigned on pre designated places on the model. Seems kinda intriguing if people could name their own ships.

Either way as usual fantastic work. :) I hope you wont keep us waiting much longer now.

The REARM mod allowed that.

We won't display names on the hull except for the ships in the campaign. In skirmish/multiplayer games we'll use class names directly such as "Mercury Class Battlestar" etc.

Looks amazing. I made a submod just script editing the old version of BSG fleet commander which made each of the Galactica variants (including Columbia and the Warstar) buildable in skirmish. Changed their health stats to represent increased armour as you progressed from Galactica to Columbia and then to Poseidon. Will anything like that be in the new version of the mod? Or perhaps extra armour could be something you build on the ship as an upgrade/module. So it starts with the ribbed/exposed look of Galactica and you can pay 2000 RU or something to cover up the rest of the exposed hull. Starting with the ribbing exposed would represent the 'rushed into service' necessities of the war.

Really exciting and great work.

Love this idea. I'll certainly pass that along to the rest of the team.

If it wasn't too much work you could even do that with gun batteries as well.

So the player builds their Galactica-class Battlestar, it has 8 guns on the top and is partially armoured (like Galactica in the Miniseries), and then the player can steadily upgrade it with more armour (like Columbia) and/or additional gun batteries (like Galactica in Blood and Chrome). This would add variety: you might decide to spend your scarce resources on more point defence weapons or more armour, rather than more anti-ship batteries or nuclear weapons (which could be another very expensive upgrade).

One other thought I had, unrelated, perhaps their could be a few different variants of the old 'Saga of a Star World' starting fleet, each representing different seasons of the show. So:

'Season 1': big fleet, stronger Galactica.
'Season 2': Pegasus + Galactica
'Season 3': Damaged Galactica (but loads more Vipers and Assault Raptors from Pegasus), no Pegasus
'Season 4 (late)': Heavily damaged Galactica, rebel Basestar (which can build Heavy Raiders and possibly nuclear-armed Vipers but has lower health than a standard basestar, and can't build regular Raiders)

I scripted some of these myself for my own custom mod of the old version. As each Galactica (Galactica_D/Galactica_N I think they were called) is a different ship in the game files, perhaps each could have a different upgrade for an 'alliance' type mechanism. SO the regular, miniseries Galactia model allows (for a large expense) to recruit Pegasus, and the more beat-up, post-New Caprica Galactica model allows you to similarly start an alliance with the rebel Cylons allowing recruitment of their baseship.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for such an extended comment - just have some ideas from my own submod and you may well have thought of the above already.

@Unikraken: That makes to of us the only other BSG mod that ever existed and had all ships in it was the one for Sins of a Solar empire and that had plenty of annoying audio - cool music missing and not to mention very low poly like models.. Pity but otherwise it was good.
