Reforged is a Battlefront II mod with no small scope. The aim of the project is to provide a new, less linear and more authentic experience without outrageously trying to break the themes of the vanilla game. Featuring over a dozen maps, both reworked official maps and completely new designs, as well as some recovered prototypes and beta worlds, there will be no shortage of content for a full day. With thematically reworked sides, new units, heroes, vehicles, there should be a fresh-yet-familiar experience lying in wait. Releasing -Reforged-

So we've made it. After all those tentative comments about "hoping to release this project until the end of the year", annually ever since 2018, we're here. As I'm writing this, the mod has been uploaded and is pending authorization. It feels so strange now, that the final moments of the wait are no longer on me.

Through the first quarter of 2021, I was severely movement-restricted due to a work accident at the end of 2020 that destroyed half my shin, so I had a lot of time on my hands all of a sudden. And I used it for a massive push to get Reforged into a satisfactory state to share with the world. I spent so many hours, working day and night, almost losing my sanity in some cases, but I made steady progress. I was about to give up hope more than once, but fortunately, I didn't. We're at the finish line now. Does this mean the mod is 100% as I envisioned it? No. That would be impossible. I had to make some drastic cuts on ideas and prioritize perfecting the ones I'd already begun implementing. And while I'm sad that some ideas didn't make it in, I'm also glad I made the decision to scrap them, because this project really needed to wrap up soon. It was becoming an obsession of sorts, weighing me down and preventing me from focusing on living.

Now, what does this mean for the future? Well, as I see it now, I think for the next few years at least, I'm done with BF2 modding. There are other projects I need to finish too, and then there is life that needs to be lived. It was a wild ride, but this is likely to be the last update to this project - unless some major bugfix needs to be made. Then I'll carefully consider it. At some point, I may start releasing some of the assets I used for this mod, however, be reasonable with requests. Some things I can't release for various reasons, and I won't immediately jump into it after this. Give it some time.

With all that said, I hope you will enjoy Reforged and have fun with it. At the very least, you can rest assured, it was made with passion.

I did some testing, and it appears when im using the HD shortcut on my desktop, the vehicles dont work nor spawn properly, but when i use the normal shortcut, it works just fine. Any idea why this happens?

That is extremely odd. There's no rhyme or reason why that should be the case, and I definitely have never come across anything like such before. I honestly couldn't tell you why that'd happen, sorry.

Was going to say this mod was a beautiful mess but DoctorAnsem answered why above. This has fixed other mods for me as well (disabling AI heroes in Remaster)
You should really put that in a readme in your file Doc or some may miss out on this wonderful mod!
