Battlefield 2: Nothing Held Back currently offers players with a wealth of new teams to play as, and equipment to use, more maps, and enhanced single player support. But this is only the beginning! The ultimate goal is to produce a mod where a player can play as one of many nations, all realisticly reflection on their real life counter parts, while allowing for maintenance of the original BF2 gameplay style. This, along with some gameplay modes just for fun and laughs and a gripping ever expanding single player campaign. Mod is still very WIP, version 0.1 is out, 0.2 release info is on it's way. Please note: Release dates are subject to change, in both directions...

Post news Report RSS The Mod

Work on the mod has just been put on temporary in order to redesign the concept a little bit, as I've just been informed about a few legal complications with the original idea.

Basically, this is a really short news update for the mod.

I was informed that "Legally you are not allowed to bring any xpack content to players who don't have those xpacks already".

"Oh bugger..." said I, who quickly set about removing the downloads from the public areas where they were posted.

And so work on the mod is on short term hold while I discuss with various people and wrestle to get people who are willing to participate in the mod team as we will not be in dire need of people who posses a wide range of skills in order to make the original concept a reality. At the moment it looks like the mod will no longer feature special forces, but may well feature new conventional armies and will almost certainly feature new maps. We will however still be adding a single player campaign at some point, it just won't be as good as it could have been...

Why can't western companies take the same angle on this as the Japanese would have?
