Back2Fronts is an extensive mod that will overhaul your Call of Duty 2 game to a next level. This mod brings more variety, intensity, realism and battle-like experience. Try new weapons, fight new enemies, fulfil new missions and explore new options. Mod is SP and MP friendly (although primary part is SP).
Here you can see the first tests of new random AI system for weapons. Enemies (and frienlys too) now spawn with mostly random weapons. This allows us not only to give the player more complex experience and allow more replayability but also it gives us a powerfull mean how to add custom weapons to AI. So far Panzerschreck RPzB-54 (German AT launcher), PanzerFaust 60m (German AT launcher), NebelHandGranate 39 (German smoke grenade), No77 Mk1 (British smoke grenade), Grease Gun M3 (US SMG, not in video) and Winchester M1897 (US shotgun, not in video) have been added.
How random are we talking? LIke is it ok so most men carried a rifle of some sort or you could run into a squad of 5 AT launchers?
All non-scripted AI have random weapons (pistols, revolvers, rifles of all sort, snipers, smgs, lmgs, AT launchers, etc.). CoD2's random function is kinda unpredictable in behaviour so you cannot fully exclude the situation of more than one AT launcher appearance at a time or too much snipers at a time etc.
I have already done some tweakings so the launchers don't spawn too often. It should get even better when there are more custom weapons included.
I guass its something like WCP mod right? Like in vanilla CoD2, ailled soldiers would use an enfield while when you play WCP mod, their weapon could change into a thompson or bazooka.

It looks like hell. Men are fighting eachother with AT weapons? That doesn't look right. I believe that soldiers did not use that much AT weapons while fighting in the trenches because their own men and them self could get very easily.
Well the Ai in WCP mod did that. Lol

The gameplay is harder than original CoD2 but on the other hand it is much more challenging. You must watch your steps carefully, you cannot play rambo-style because the AI has random weapons and its accuracy has been improved. AI now can throw not only regular blast/frag grenades but also smoke ones. As a reward for this diffuculty you can collect huge variety of weapons on each level. For example, sniper rifle and pistols are available almost on every level. You can also pickup not only the boring stielhandgranates from dead bodies but other types of grenades as well (most noticeable in Red Square Massacre map).
Note for AI launchers: I can disable them but if I do it then the gameplay will lose one of its major fun elements.
Maybe you could make a button in the options menu where you can choose if the AI uses AT launchers or not?
Looks nice, but I hope you will improve the Panzerfaust animation, because it looks strange (the weapon moves down after shooting too fast).
Yup, because the custom animation is not ready yet (Panzerschreck's anim is used in video) we had to figure it out somehow temporarily :-)

I don't like the idea of this much randomness in the AI weapons. I think this should be optional as a gag.
Can you throwback the grenades?
Is it possible Randomize the accuracy of each soldiers too?
Example:
Soldier #1's accuracy: 60
Soldier #2's accuracy 44
Soldier #3's accuracy :71
