Story: HL2 mod continuing story of HL:Opposing Force character Adrian Shephard in a time set somewhere between HL1 and HL2. It brings you from a Black Mesa like base trough an outdoor environment and a Soviet marine base into a early combine citadel to end in a ancient alien location here on earth, the combine stumbles upon when creating a citadel. What you get: Intro and 5 playable maps roughly good for a hour of playtime. The mod includes custom props, textures and music but NO new weapons or NPC's.

No idea why but the portal at the end of Kilo doesn't let me in.

Did you killed all 3 the combine elite soldiers?
(didn't want players to jump in before they came out)

As last resort you can go to new game and select the citadel chapter thats where you end up,
alltough you miss a (messy) portal dimension sequence then.

I did kill all three. I actually restarted Kilo Base from the "New game" menu, replayed the level and had the same problem. Multiple reloads and it never worked. strange. Also the next chapter doesn't load from the New game menu (possibly because it's not "unlocked" so far.

The Source engine can be mysterious at times. Maybe it has something to do with Steam re-loading parts of HL2 right now (for whatever reason). It's strange that the rest of the mod works absolutely fine, though. If noone else complains, it's probably an issue on my side.

Actually I have heard a guy could not go from the intro level to level 1, and one could not go from level 4 to level 5.
Its weird tough, as the chancelevel trigger is a simple one, no extra options to enable/disable it or anything.

Hmm aren't all chapters unlocked when you start the game?
I added a autoexec.cfg file to the awakening/cfg folder with a command what unlocks all chapters in case people would get stuck somewhere.
Chapter unlocks are code based to do them right, its possible to do it another way in the maps, but playing a eralyer map would lock future chapters again so I shose for starting with all unlocked instead.

You could type sv_unlockedchapers 5 in youre console ot type map aw_map4 to load the level after the portal.
(you will miss a crappy portaltube sequence but thats it)

I'm going to release a updated version of the mod and try plaing the changelevel entity in front of the portal.
Killing the 3 elite soldiers just disables the push trigger preventing players to tough the changelevel trigger before the combines came out the portal :)
