It has been a long while since we've posted an update for the Moddb community, and its my pleasure to announce that the AFF: TC is anytihng but dead. In the last month we've seen alot of new content and additions to the project. Our lead modeler strangelet has been working up a storm, producing vessel after vessel for us. Though not all of these new units are showcased in our Moddb gallery, here is a quick snip of what iwe've beend doing lately:
further information about these ships can be found here: AFF Ship Database (with 3D previews)
We've gotten several ships in-game and are currently testing the hell out of'em (as much as school and real-life commitments allow). Our first [beta] release will probably contain the slew of USN vessels we have finished to date, so keep your ear to the ground.
In other news, I'd like to "officially" announce the formation of a new, ground-based FPS project related to our existing work. The workingtitle is Angels Fall First: Planet Storm and its goal is to showcase the surface-level combat, tactics, and technology of the AFF universe.
I would like to note that planning for this project came at the behest of the AFF community, and as a result, we are looking for anyone with experience modding/modeling for FPS titles (notably, Half-Life 2 or the Battlefield series) to offer input and (hopefully) support in the development of this project. The RTS portion of AFF already occupies a fair amount fo my free time, so we are actually looking for individual[s]to step up and help take a leadership role in this endeavor, but at the moment, anyone and everyone is encouraged to help out with the planning. Please PM me, drop a comment here, or join our forums if you are interested in any aspect of our project!
