An Empire Reborn is a light overhaul mod for Empire Total War, enhancing and rebalancing existing units and systems without compromising the core gameplay. Special care has been undertaken to fit all new units and artwork into the existing core gameplay and art style of the original game.
Key Features
1. Significant rework of unit rosters for all major factions
2. Reworked unit recruitment for land and naval units
3. Over 40 new units and many more reworked units
4. New Textures and Unit Icons/Portraits for increased visual diversity and historical accuracy
5. Major balance changes for multiple unit types
Mod Compatibility
Since this mod modifies core game files, this mod is not compatible with Darthmod or other major overhauls. However, An Empire Reborn should be fully compatible with any graphics mods that alter the environment/campaign map/effects. Modpacks with new units can be added, however they will likely not be balanced the same way the units in this mod are. Please let me know if there are any issues with running multiple smaller mods along with this one.
This mod is 100% compatible with Empire Total Factions by husserlTW and it is highly recommended as a companion mod to this one.

Update 1.3 for An Empire Reborn is now live!
A lot of work went into this latest update, and for the first time this mod now includes it's own Campaign. Staying true to the original intentions of the mod, this Campaign retains the same setup and starting date (1700) as the original campaign, but with updates and adjustments to improve immersion and gameplay. All AI profiles for minor factions have been updated to be more aggressive and active on the campaign map, and faction colors have also been updated to give each faction historically authentic uniforms.
With the latest patch An Empire Reborn can now also boast over 100 new units including cut content from the original game that has been brought into the mod.
I wanted to thank everyone who has downloaded and played this mod up to today, and hope you enjoy the latest update. As always I'm more than happy to answer any questions regarding balancing, historical authenticity, or respond to any bugs you find.
Thanks again, and enjoy!

Big Fan of your work. Your know much about modding that a lot of the larger modders don't and leave out. I hope you can continue this great mod.
I think it is worth considering from a historical point of view, that militia units, janissaries and other line units of eastern nations should not be allowed to fire by rank. They could have a melee bonus instead.
That's the point of the Euro Drill tactics technology. I think volley fire like the dahomey amazons have in the vanilla would be a good compromise though. As long as high cost elite units get FBR drill after the EDT tech.
Can you make it so that the uniform for regular line infantry is updated across time? Maybe by adding a new version of the unit after certain tech tree advancements? It just doesn't make sense for the uniform to stay the same across ~100 years
just a suggestion
Hey! I really enjoy your mod, Thanks for your hard work!
I have one question, is it intentional that Landwehr units have no garrison policing bonus? (For Prussia at least, in my current campaign.)
No that's a bug. Thanks for pointing it out, it will be fixed in the upcoming patch.
Can you add Airguns tech for Austria?
Hello there,
I loaded up the mod and the Airguns tech is enabled for the Austrians. That technology is at the bottom of the military tech tree on the far right. If you have other mods installed that may be causing conflicts that are causing the tech to not show up.
im installing the new update cant wait
i can't wait for next update haha
i love this mod
