First of all...
Happy New Year's to you all! I hope you all had a wonderful (if not at least calming) holiday season. 2023 has been a ride for me. Lots of stress, anxiety, excitement. I welcome 2024 with cautious optimism.
I've contemplated whether or not to post an update, but I honestly believe you all deserve one, especially those who have waited a very long time.
Helena is NOT dead!
Earlier this year, Steam announced that support for Windows 7 will be ending at the beginning of 2024. Sadly, I'm still on Windows 7 (I know, I know, should've updated years ago), and I used this news as a means of kicking things back into high gear to get this mod wrapped up.
I can proudly say it's nearly completed. Things got a little backed up at the end of this year, so we're still in the middle of beta testing to make sure everything runs smoothly. However, I don't know when I'll lose access to Steam. From what I've read, Windows 7 will simply stop receiving updates until it can no longer connect and there doesn't seem to be a real timeline yet for when that will happen.
The current plan is this:
Though we're going to work hard to get the test done as quickly AND efficiently as possible, I am going to try to release it soon after the start of the New Year. This may mean that things don't work 100%. I'll try to make sure this isn't the case, but I may not have a choice.
I would rather release it now with a few bugs than wait until I can update the OS of a computer that might not even be able to take the update.
At some point, I will try to come back to fix what may still be bugged. I make no guarantees though as much as I'd like to.

(1/19/24 Update)
Just as a quick update, I became pretty sick a couple weeks ago and it threw me out of commission. I'm still recovering but finally feeling better enough to get back to work. One severe crashing error has reared its ugly head, so we're trying to figure that out. Once that's solved, we'll be back on track for release.
