I've played the demo and loved it so far. but let me double check. Do i really need patch 1.3 for this?
You don't need a 1.3 patch. I launched it on 1.2 and it works

Hi. I just downloaded the file and extracted it with 7-zip, but for some reason that's all i can do.
I can't find the actual game file.
You should extract it in Amnesia:The Dark Descent folder and launch amnesia_depth.bat
