This mod, formally named Violet Alliance, enhances the original game by unlocking, changing, and adding. Enjoy. :^)

Hello, everybody. I hope you all are enjoying the new year.

Hello, everybody. I was just thinking about all the Star Wars games that could have been created. Like Imperial Commando, Alliance Commando, Jedi Knight III, 1313, First Assault... et cetera. I recently came across a game I have not seen sense in years, Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike. I was 11 years old when that came out but I do remember that game. I had so much fun blasting Imperial. Do you remember the TIE Hunter? I was actually going to add that to Alliance at War. But the creator of the model said no. I am not the biggest fan of Imperial tech because most of it is a death trap -- but that ship, and the TIE Defender, are both awesome in my book.

Anyway about Alliance at War, I always seem to get messages saying what else could I do to mod that has not been done already. Believe it or not I had a really long list of ideas, but I only got through half of it. I could share a few. One of them was having demo squads on structures then detonating them, think of Republic Commando; and another was an entire new faction. That is canon of course.

You could scale-up the capital ships, it would be fun seeing big ships around

Well don't worry I did not discriminate on any faction -- because I worked on all of them. All ships have been resized to a more canon size.

The Imperials have probe droids for spying on target systems. Perhaps the Rebels could have "stolen shuttles," like the 'Tydirium' used by Gen. Solo and his team to infiltrate the Imperial base on Endor.

Stolen Lambda class shuttles armed with the four laser cannons shown in photos of the "Tydirium" (Google Search: "Tydirium" and you will find some excellent pictures with good detail of the lasers).

Make it so that these shuttles have the same spying ability as the Imperial probes droids, as well as the ability to fight in space should an enemy attack come while they are in orbit. The Lambda class shuttles had decent armor, and their laser turrets could rotate, as indicated in the detailed photo here:

I was originally going to use Bothan spies for the spy role, Darth Saber. They could travel the galaxy undetected, spy, and possibly sabotage.

That is a good idea Larry-3, but it is one that has been used before in one or two other mods. The interesting thing about the Lambda class shuttles, is that they have only been used as transports.

These shuttles are like a forgotten unit, one which is seen only during landing scenes and battles where they are present. By using the Lambda as the Rebellion's spy, you would be doing something unique and unexpected.

As a feature unique to your mod, the Tydirium could even be coded as a Rebel hero, capable of taking part in land battles, and able to spawn specialized Rebel infantry.

Hmm... I don't know. The shuttle was mostly used by the Imperials, but I do remember the Alliance stealing the Tydirium. I might make that particular unit a special unit for the Alliance, with special stealth abilities of course.
