So far, the mod has finally evolved to a point where critics can finally enjoy it for a few levels with minimal death. Not only that, but the file size of the mod has dropped from 52 megabytes all the way down to 42; many unused assets were removed and many files have been converted to smaller forms.
One major aesthetic change is about to come and that is the changing of Doomguy's gloves. It seems like the black finger-less gloves and the tan vanilla gloves are in nearly every popular doom mod. To stand out, I'm changing them to dark brown.
Another important thing to mention is that this file size reduction process may make the mod look dated; some of the testers didn't like the new muzzle flashes that I made for the guns. It will take some time to make compress all the previously expensive sprites without destroying them. However, this will give me space to add some features without inflating the mod too much.
I'm trying to make it friendly to old computers without ruining its beauty.
Also, one of my nobles, A F---ing Heretic, started making a sound-pack for my mod. I'm liking what he has come up with so far, but it is not complete yet.
Here's a preview of the mod's updates thus far:
Here's The Heretic's unfinished addon:
I also made new music for the campaign:
And, as usual, here are some fan's gameplay videos:
