I'm having problems setting up the shortcut
in other mods it worked just fine
maybe there is something wrong with all of those parameters in launch options
Don't forget to add commas in begining and the end of path. It should look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe" DM-000?game=Airborn.Airborn -windowed -resx=1280 -resy=720 -log -ConsolePosX=0 -ConsolePosY=0 -useunpublished -mod=..\Airborn -log -consoleXY'
and not like this:
C:\Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe DM-000?game=Airborn.Airborn -windowed -resx=1280 -resy=720 -log -ConsolePosX=0 -ConsolePosY=0 -useunpublished -mod=..\Airborn -log -consoleXY'
Those " " things are called quote marks, not commas. Learn2English.

Considering that the PS3 version of UT3 actually DOES allow people to install mods on their console, I'd say the noob here is you.

i think it should look like this:

give that a try. the only thing i changed was the Games to Program Files and D:\ to a C:\ because if you have it on C then why would you point your computer in the direction of a drive that is nonexistant on your system.
Just after the splash disappears and before the game appears I get an error saying: "The map specified on the commandline 'DM-000' could not be found. Would you like to load the default map instead?"
When I click OK, or Cancel, the regular UT3 starts.

Hi, I just downloaded this, and I cannot get it to work. I followed the instructions exactly, but it simply refuses to run. Whenever I click on the icon, I get the Airborn splash screen, and the system console starts going in the background. But then after a few seconds it fails and in the system console it says, "Warning: Failed to load 'menu': Can't find file 'menu'
And then a windows Message box pops up with the following:
The map specified on the commandline 'menu' could not be found. You you like to load the default map instead?
[OK] [Cancel]
If I hit OK it just loads regular Unreal Tournament 3, and if I hit Cancel, then the whole program just shuts down and sends me back to my desktop.
And yes, I updated to the latest version of UT3 before trying to launch Airborn. Also, I'm running the retail, non-Steam version of the game, if that makes any difference.
Is it supposed to be released on the ps3?
my pc won't let me rename the path "the path c:\Program" not valid", and probably, moving unreal tournament 3 to a newly created folder "Games" will break the whole thing
Make sure you're putting "quotes" around the file path. It should look like this:.
"C:\Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe"
this is labeled for the ps3. why is it for the pc? can't wait for the final ver. to be released!
it was planned for consoles and still is apperently its just easier to develop for pc ;)

well it says that cant find DM-000 which is specified map name

im downloading this i think u need to make an seperate in game folder something like that then u extract it there worked with the haunted mod

oaky, this mod DOES work, its just the readme that's assy.
For steam users:
extract the Airborn folder from the rar, into the "unreal tournament 3" folder, not the binaries, or UT game folders. Then go to steam and create the UT3.exe shortcut like they explain in the readme. then right click on it and select "properties." In the properties window, there should be a field called "target." erase it and instead of it type in the destination of your steam folder such as "E:\"
So, if your steam folder is right on on the "E" drive, your target field should read something like this:
"E:\Steam\steamapps\common\unreal tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe" menu?game=Airborn.Airborn -windowed -resx=1280 -resy=720 -log -ConsolePosX=0 -ConsolePosY=0 -useunpublished -nohomedir -mod=..\Airborn -log -consoleXY
including the quotation marks.
Just played it. simply amazing.
no problems getting it to fullscreen
or switching resolution, main menu looks
a bit wierd in 1920x1080. Some camera and
movement bugs close to walls but nothing to
complain about...
looking forward to the next demo,
(hopefully containing some flying)
