88 Flak is a fast-paced combat mod for the 3D action game Freelancer by Digital Anvil. It aims to bring quick and brutal arena-like combat to Freelancer with Unreal Tournament 2004 style speed and years of refined Team Fortress inspired class balancing. In addition, it aims to expand the gameplay experience with numerous new features, including docking on player Battleships (use teammates as mobile bases), purchasable stations (private bases that shoot at hostile NPCs and players), hiring AI wingmen, dynamic AI routines (88 Flak's AI is hailed to be the best in Freelancer), ability to script story missions in multiplayer (extremely beta), AI Bots (persistent NPCs with their own reputations and loadouts), and full customization via a Freelancer Mods Manager script with configurable client-side and server-side options such as advanced graphics/audio and more.
Please note, 88 Flak 1.26 is now considered obsolete to the newer 1.27 betas. 1.26 has some stability issues, and 1.27 has so many improvements that I'd heavily recommend you try the 1.27 Betas instead of this. The betas are also packaged in .ZIP.FLMOD format, instead of the .RAR format, so no need for WinRAR. Progress on the beta, as well as the up-to-date beta download, may be found on the 88 Flak Forums (click "read more" to the right for link)
To make things a little simpler, I also uploaded Flak 1.26 here as well. 1.27 is nearly completed, and will be released when final testing is completed; it will also be uploaded here when completed.
Have fun folks. Send me feedback if you wish, I'd appriciate it. =)

This one of the best FL mods I have ever played. There are so many things about it I really enjoy. The only thing that I miss is the missions. I have been playing for about 3 days. I have visited about 12 systems, and have gained favor with the liberty navy/police. I haven't seen any missions. It would be nice after you get in good with the factions to be able to do missions for them. Its just something I have always enjoyed in FL.
So-since it is a rar. you just put it into theC:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods folder right?
