Final Update
I have been 1-manning this mod ever since the start. I didn't get any help from the beginning... very few people offered help, and to those people, I would like to thank you in your support. You are the people that kept me focused on finishing the mod. And I am sorry for letting you down. I would just like to say thank you to the people who had tried to help. I apologize that I could not finish this mod for you, I did. My heart was going into this mod, I was trying to get it done as fast as possible, and at the same time, making it look and play good as well.
After this, I am not sure if I would continue working on this project. It was a fun project from the start, but I cannot one man a mod. I have been one manning it for over a year, and I am sorry, but I cannot finish. I hope that someone else will continue and make a paintball mod for Call of Duty 2, because I know that I am finished with modding. Not because I didn't finish, but because I am sick of failing. I have come up with so many ideas that no one has supported, I don't need to feel like shit due to nobody liking my ideas. I take my ideas and put them away for now; that is why I have quit modding.

Mod Aim
20 BPS is a Call of Duty 2 modification. Our goal is to provide a realistic, intense, competitive, yet fun game for the gaming and paintballing community. Our aim is also to make the gameplay as close as possible to paintball in real life.

Mod Features
Here is our current list of ideas for the mod. We will get rid of some of these ideas, but we hope to implement all of it. But we might have to cut some of these features if they interrupt with the gameplay, or anything like that.

  • Many different guns, each with their own unique specs like in real paintball.
  • Ability to choose what jersey, mask, pants, etc. you'd like to use.
  • Easy implemention of your own jersey or pant designs.
  • Abilities for prone, leaning side to side, sprinting, sliding if you crouch or go prone while sprinting.
  • When you shoot, you see the paintball fly through the air like in real life. So it's not just point and click like some other FPS'.
  • Realistic paintball physics. Sometimes the balls bounce of the player if you shoot them from really far away. And they sometimes bounce on bunkers and such.
  • Capture the Flag style of play.
  • BPS Counter. (Balls Per Second) to show how fast you're shooting.
  • Realistic airball bunkers on airball maps... You can knock them over if you rush into them at the right speed.
  • Server Option: You get a certain amount of "cash", or "credits", kind of like CS. You eliminate, or capture a flag, you get more credits. You can purchase gun upgrades with the credits.
  • You can c hange you're hopper, barrel, etc. Load time and how many PBs are held in the hopper depend on the hopper, etc. etc.
  • Ability to carry anywhere from 0 to around 7 Pods.
  • You drop pods, they bounce around behind you, you still see them on the ground afterwards, etc.
  • Spectator System - You get out, you're guy walks to the side. Not just free spec, I'm thinking of somehow putting them on the sidelines behind netting or something so they can watch from there, to get a more realistic feel.
  • Game Statistic system - instead of individual stats for individual servers, you can register on a section of the site, and it auto-records you're stats when you play, so its kind of like stats for everybody, so you can brag to your friends. :)

Guns/Upgrades
Another feature of 20BPS is the ability to change your equipment. We will be adding much more guns and options.

  • Guns: Angel G7, Angel 05 Speed, Spyder Electra, Spyder Imagine, Tippmann 98 Custom, Phantom, some more pump guns, EGO, ION, Shocker, Karnivor, Orr-acle, Other Autocockers, Some Intimidators, DM5, DMC, PM6, Tippmann A5, Nerve, Impulse, Freestyle, SystemX NME, Defiant, and much more.
  • Ability to change your gun or hopper color.
  • Hoppers: Halo B, Empire Reloader B, Egg, And other random ones.
  • Barrels: Freak Kit, Dye Boomstick, Dye Ultralight, Precision Barrel, Armson Stealth, etc.
  • Different boards, so you can have the option of ramping, etc.

Why choose CoD2 as the mod engine?
After playing Call of Duty 2, I am convinced that it has the most realistic and intense gameplay of any game on the market today. The already built-in player movement system is incredibly realistic, and is very similar to how you move in paintball. The engine can also hold a good amount of poly's, so that is always a plus.

Shame you feel like that. I was really looking forward to this mod as. It would have been good in cod2 with the leaning, most pb game's ive played dont give you this option. I played the pb mod in cod1 and thought it was really good, only thing that spoilt it was the way players move in cod1. maybe you could get in touch with www.breaking50mod.com who made the cod1 mod and they might be able to help you. I wouldnt be to hard on yourself as im sure alot of modders feel the same way. Wish I could give some help but im only a gamer and not really good with computers after that. Hope you change your mind anyhow and thanks for at least trying to add another mod to the cod2 community.

Ok, now that I've gotten your attention, here's a few things:

Q) Is the mod dead?
A) I've gotten many E-Mails and messages about this mod asking if its dead or not, and quite frankly, alot of people are saying that it is. I have been sidetracked with school, work, and now college courses. I was working on the mod alone, but now I've been so busy I completely forgot about it. So yes, momentarily it was dead, but I'm reviving it now that I have time.

Q) Okay, your starting it up again. Now WHEN ARE YOU GETTING A DEMO UP?!?!
A) It all depends. Ever since the beginning of the project I have been working on it alone. It can't go far in a short amount of time if there is only 1 person working on the entire thing, and only 1 person who still hasn't mastered all of the different development and design aspects. The only people who have been offering to help are web designers. I didn't get one offer of help from any modelers, mappers, or coders.

Q) Well aren't you looking for help?
A) At the moment, no. In the past, I was every day. But at the moment, no, I am way too busy to.

Q) Is there some way I can help?
A) Yes, if you know somebody who is a good modeler, mapper, or coder for the CoD2 engine, then please tell them to contact me. Help me find more developers. Just think, if you get me help, it will come out faster :>

i would love for this to come out very soon. and i couldn't agree with you more that this is the right game for this mod, because other PB mods such as Virtual paintball for Half-Life are horrible

it looks sweet so far. oh btw Radical_toilet, 20bps is very fast for semi. i dont know what kind of gun your friend has but 20bps, no ramping, or no smoke and mirrors, straght up semi is extremely good but most people shoot 15-17bps.

sorry i didnt know.. i wish more people would step up and help, a realistic paintball mod is just what the gaming community needs.
