at the time i did this mod i didn't have upscaling software, now i do! If i were to do it again i would not replace most of the textures and would upscale them instead. I understand what you're saying though :)
The problem with modding textures in this game is that you need to scale and position each of the texture file you have replaced, and that takes a lot of time and trial and error is also involved.
When i started this mod i didn't think i'd be posting it online, it was just something for me and to put some texture photos to use, to see if i could do it, so there's some changes that were done based on personal preference.
I'm not sure, i haven't used MMod so i really don't know :( if the MMod changes textures then a few conflicts might happen.
oh man that sucks so much!!! and it's so time consuming, i feel your pain :C the levels were looking amazing based on those screenshots!
The advice i can give you is to create several back up saves as you go, then save over all of them when you make progress every hour or so, that way if one save gets corrupted or something you'll have several back ups and you won't lose the progress. And don't keep the back ups all in the same place. it's weird that it erased all 3, i've never heard or something like this happen.
lost Coast uses the same folder as Half-life 2 so can't create textures especifically for it, it would mess up the original game. At least that i know of, i'm not an expert at this stuff :D
Yes I understand. Some do look different, but a lot of them were color matched to the original textures. I started paying more attention to this kind of stuff as i went on. It's hard to put a screenshot for every texture, but if you look in my profile you'll see a few that look very similar to the original texture.
Thank you very much, have fun! :)
This mod was created primarily to be used with Half-Life 2 Update, but will work with the normal version of Half-Life 2 as well, plus the episodes and Synergy.
the only thing i kept from this was the health packs and the armor. those are very nice. the rest i deleted because it changed the weapons, sound and a bunch of stuff that i didn't care for.
