Dan , I also have win7 64 and was getting crashes with another great crysis MOD (The Worry of Newport) - Turns out my game (MAXIMUM EDITION-retail) wasn't fully patched.
You may need to patch up your game from 1.1 ( I got Patch 1.2/ Then a small HOTFIX patch for 1.2 / then patch 1.2.1) after this I've encountered no more probs with loading up MODS (although I've not tried HUNTERS LIFE-I'm here now to DL it and give it a go :)
Sometimes it's something simple (and easily overlooked)

ah,man,whatta mindf**k, I'd completely forgot about replacing my old install
- I've been trying to patch this MAX ED but no dice (it seems to think the main patch is the hotfix???) so, bugger it, uninstall the lot and start from the top step by step and...
I'm now organising fireworks every colour to explode the word S U C C E S S !!! over all main continents of earth... 5.36 in the frikkin mornin and I got it WORKING!!!
I can now fall into bed with mind at ease -HA!

This is pretty dumb (but I guess you'd sherlocked that already) but about 2 months ago a mate gave me "Crysis-Maximum edition" he'd done with -I had the old retail one (patched up)
-and guess what...I installed it, but forgot to patch it....

DOH!

Patchimg it now...(whilst feelin like a PROPER chump I might add)

Right-o, an update...
I got the MOD to load (my target line was " -mod=Newport2"(other MODS I've used -big OFP/ARMA2 fan -always had the "=".)
changed it to " -mod Newport2 " and it seems to have loaded,but on restart when I enter the "map part1" bit I can see the game is loading something behind a wall of console text then the whole game crashes...
I already have a few other MODS working for Crysis (noname isl/mandate of heaven etc)-but I'm loading this on a VANILLA shortcut.
I got WIN7 64bit/ I5 2500K /NVIDIA GTX570/ 8GB RAM etc (good standard kit-took me 15months to save up for -worth it:D)
so I don't think it's anything up with the rig...
-Can someone please help me out: I'm developing a nervous tic over this :S

Everyones efforts at everything through history have started out rubbish (even Einstein got crappy school grades-FACT) -This is what will give you the Big satisfaction when you DO start getting the Quality shining thru.

Well, the question remains ,I don't know when you type in this "con_Restricted 0" in,my Game is full patched (retail) with altered target (" -mod+Newport2") in-game when I type in the "map1" command it says 'crysis needs to restart' so I do that and type in "map1" thing again and am caught in a loop going round n round...

Hello C-ZOM I'd just like to say that this looks fantastic but your mod README is incomplete in it's install instructions- I did as asked in the readme but it didn't work ,now I read above something about "con_restricted 0" ; when do you put this into the console? in what order with "map part1"? why is it not included in your instructions? all the other mods I've tried just run from the mod menu in game...
I'm a huge fan of lovecraftian atmospheres, have been for many years now so this looks perfect for me in style but I'm pretty much computerspeak illiterate.
Could you tell me what I'm to do, you know, like 1,2,3.
I'd greatly appreciate the help in this as I was really looking foreward to trying this out.I'm certain others are stuck too.

I always felt that what was primarily missing from STALKER-SHADOWS OF CHERNOBYL was the Wasteland expanses/empty spaces BETWEEN the 'spotlit' areas of detail and finding paths through these using kit (like the Anomaly detector/radiation detector etc)to make your way,(these open areas too could contain lots of little interesting places and secrets to find)- I would LOVE to see a ZONE immense in size and with vehicles-rare fuel-and Proper survival tactics needed for food/shelter etc

LOST ALPHA looks truly promising, you can really tell the vast work and passion for the vision gone into it and I can't wait to give it a go :)
