that's longer than the gulf war, the iraq war and only 1 year shorther than WWI.
And therefore the battles were much more intensive than in Vietnam (similiar number of casualties in a much shorter period of time)

...beside, the number of years aren't interesting for a game unless you want to play a whole war in real time - the important factor are significance, itensity, aresenals, etc...

although the screenshots don't show any HUD at all we wont use crosshairs, so you'll have to use your weapon's ironsights to aim (a small tribute to realism, hehe)

Well, there is no dowloadable version available yet - but we're also working on single player support

your comment has been burried because you can rate comments and comments with a minus score will be burried, so it's some kind of democratic process...
Nevertheless I want to appologize for my rude reply on your comment, but due to my evil German nature incorrect and misleading comments can cause me to become pretty temperamental...

I see that you're from China and of course I can understand your special interest in the historical accuracy of our project but I can asure you that we try to depict every aspect of the war concentrating it into a package that fits into a mod.
Although I'm sad that we wont be able to implement everything the way we want or planned due to limitations of the game/engine and our team.

And if you're afraid of us being lackadaisical about history then I would really like you to contact me via e-mail so we can discuss everything out - we appreciate every help when it comes to funded resources and research.

And you should study our mod:
We depict the UN forces (major parties: ROK and US Army) and the North Korean and Chinese forces - yes thatare all who fought my friend

But yeah, if our team was maybe 1000 times as big and we'd have an endless amount of free time we'd even portray the Philippine troops

And then - you saw it right, that is an American M26 Pershing tank - believe it or not but it was used by the American US Army - amazing.
Happily we got a T34/85 tank for our North Korean and Chinese tropps... what irony - maybe someone did some research? I don't know...

Oh, and you want me to show you some photos of a North Korean sniper rifle? I don't think so - and by the way... yeah we already have unscoped "sniper rifles" for the Chinese/N.Korean forces as well - are you happy now?

No airforce? Dammit - how could they field some 500 MiG-15s only at MiG Alley then? And how could the US ariforce claim over 800 shot down aircrafts (oh... that must have been a typo, I admit)

ah, cool - I've got some osprey-... uh books? about Pershing and co.
I would really like to know if your references show any informations about the Pershing's/Patton's gunsight (especially the 'crosshair') because I haven't been able to find anything about it

I'm aifraid that we wont provide such features - our mod isn't about the politics of that time; it's about several men confronting each other in a war caused by political reasons which most of them couldn't even understand - all of them were human beings and more than once people (mostly Americans) came to us stating that they would looking forward to shoot down some f-ing commies and I can just say that it's not our goal to satisfy such needs - maybe some people don't want to accept that the cold war is over

thanks for the comments...
and @matt_12 - do you think that the Koreans also regard it as 'police action' ? (actually I know at least one Korean living in America who burn up with anger eacht time someone says that, lol)

And actually the declaration 'police action' or 'Korean Conflict' has been chosen by that time "to avoid the necessity of a declaration of war by the U.S. Congress"

Hiho!
Well for several reasons...
reason 1 is that the Pershing was still a very common tank during the Korean war and another reason is..... well - the Pershing is a good base to do a M46-conversion (stunning, huh?)
Don't think that we'll miss the fun to do a cool M46 Patton with a mean tiger color scheme ^^

1) Yeah we know, it was just an attempt to create a friendly coupling of two 'fellow mods' concerning the subject - but well.. yeah I've already modeled and skinned for BF42.. whatever

2) Mh - For some odd reasons I can't remember you ever trying to contact us? Or did you think that it would be our task to contact you - for some odd reasons... I don't know
I just wanted to straight this out since it sounded like 'we' were bullying you by ignoring your attemps to 'communicate' with you
But if you actually tried to contact us and a mail or whatever got lost, than it was either a bonder or simply bad luck but no ill intent.

3) [see point 1] + of course I accept your wish for independence (although I'm still pondering over that '...correctly...')

Please don't take it amiss if it sounded offending... please have consideration for my evil German character - I did my best to make it sound lovely

@Kruschev
Yeah, it's a bit funny, hehe - Germany was pretty much the only country on earth which wasn't involved in the Korean war or affected by it...
Maybe that gives us (at least to some extend) a point of 'neutrality'
(I know at least one American mod-leader of an other big mod who stated things like 'When a f****** communist knocks on my door I would shoot him with no mercy' - or something like that... so you want someone like him to 'interpret the histrory'? hehe)
But in fact we had a couple of American members but most of them left within a few weeks or months... (yeah... if you work together with Germans you seem to need some kind of endurance, lol)

hehe thanks!
You may have noticed that we don't have many updates but of course that doesn't mean that we aren't working hard - at the moment we are working a lot together with other mods (for instance USI and EoD) to achieve our goals

We'll try to find a good mix of realism and gameplay
For instance we plan to have at least two players to operate one tank (driver and gunner)
The driver could control the radio operator's MG

Thanks,
we plan to include other countries like GB and Canada... but at the moment we concentrate on the american army (KPA and PLA as well, of course)
Since our team is... very small (let's hope it'll grow ^^), we'll do it "step by step"

We also contact many "big mods" to work with us, we'll do something fo em, and they'll help us...

P.S.: Sorry for the typing mistake...zefam zefan... grml, embrassing...

Oh - we wont!
South Korea used the same weapons as American soldiers and there were only little differences between the uniforms as well.
... so it wont be too difficult to include South Korea I guess
