Yes, ENB makes anomalies a little harder to spot. It does come with its set of shortcomings.

Reshade doesn't have that issue.

The preset i made for Reshade - "XpressTuning Reshade.ini" - should be added where "XR_3DA.exe" is.

But i wouldn't be surprised if the current version of Reshade differs somewhat concerning preset additions compared to the version i used a year ago. I haven't checked the current one.

There's a file called "fsgame.ltx" in the main game directory. Open it with notepad, make sure that the game_data line is set to 'true'

Check the installation instructions and the preparations you would need to do to ensure that nothing goes wrong.

Unless the game is already modded (which it shouldn't be, the installation should be done on a vanilla copy), the "gamedata" folder won't replace anything. Yes, drag and drop the "gamedata" folder in game's root directory folder.

Besides the "gamedata" folder there's the "xrRender_R2.dll". Add that in the "Bin" folder located in the game's root directory (should replace the original "xrRender_R2.dll").

Yes, it includes ZRP, no need to install it at all.

Yes, the package comes pre-activated with the repair function via the ZRP modifier. You can repair at the following NPCs:

Ivantsov in the Bar
Screw in Army Warehouses

Yes, they don't replace anything. Download the standalone pack of the models off moddb and check what to delete from my package.

I have tested it out, ReShade works with no issues. I've updated the article with screenshots to be more helpful with the guiding process.

Press the right arrow next to the field in which the .ini file is situated.

1. The SMAA injection offers the best performance, but it's only anti-aliasing, nothing more.

ENB is a little finicky and depends on too many variables whether or not it'll work. 70% of the times it offer the best visual experience, but it comes with certain drawbacks; as you've noticed, static lighting doesn't work - interior areas that aren't illuminated will be pitch black.

ReShade is far more stable, features no drawbacks and offers a cohesive visual experience.

2. It's more up to date, but it may not support as many mods as 1.07. XR3a should only be used alone.

3. No idea what textures it replaces compared to PRZ 2.1. But PRZ is very complete, i wouldn't bother.

4. The reason why i didn't include any (in-game) shaders is because they don't look good, at all, and usually ruin the game via visuals bugs and instability. Other differences include the longer grass render and custom tweaks that you can read about in the articles.

Just alt-tab the game, as described. Alt-tab out into your desktop, then go back to the game. It'll work then.

Once you've activated my preset, you won't ever have to press the "Home" button. The preset will always stay active.

No idea yet, i haven't used OGSR, but i am interested in testing it out. If i do so, i'll make an update.

That's weird, but i'm glad i separated the SMAA injector and added it as an optional download. It SHOULD work perfectly fine, but as you mentioned, you needed a different approach.

Thanks for the information, i appreciate it.

I'll update the package and delete the SMAA injection for now. The package will only contain a "gamedata" folder that you can add or delete at any time.

At least we have two confirmations that the issue is the SMAA. I'll upload the files for SMAA separately, so people could still add it if that's their choice to do so.

It's a shame we do not have a larger pool of feedback to pinpoint the issue. The machines i used to test this out were running Windows 10 and Windows 7. No issues found whatsoever.

May i suggest checking the summary page for preparations and solutions? Also, to check one other potential issue - You could try the Non-ENB version.

It's basically the same package, but without the additions. If that's working for you on multiple starts, i COULD take THAT base again, and re-tweak it.

Let's troubleshoot it so i can be sure that it's not a problem on my end; If it is, i'll fix the issue and re-upload the package.

Delete the SMAA injection as instructed above. Let me know if that works.

Game starts up until the small window, then it crashes wen trying to go fullscreen, correct? I'm familiar with that issue, the package should not be the cause as far as i know.

Something isn't right. We can try the following:

1. Run the game with admin privileges (Run this program as administrator). If that's not enough, then also enable XP SP3 compatibility.

2. Make sure there's nothing in your video drivers that forces anti-aliasing.

3. Delete the user.ltx file located in Documents > Stalker-SHOC. The game will automatically create a new one.

4. Run with the " -noprefetch" command line option. Click on shortcut>properties, and in the target box add that line. Should look like this:

"<installation path>\bin\XR_3DA.exe" -noprefetch

If that's not enough, also add " -nointro"

"<installation path>\bin\XR_3DA.exe" -nointro -noprefetch

If all else fails, then delete the SMAA injection. It's simple. In the root directory, delete SMAA.fx" and "SMAA.h". Go to the bin folder in the root directory, and delete "d3d9.dll" and "injector.ini".

No, but you can adjust various elements related to how the gunplay functions in the ZRP modifier. I wouldn't advise it though.

The gear progression is deliberately designed to be the way it is. The starting weapons are garbage; killing enemies quickly is not an issue once you get better weapons.

Check the summary page for information concerning S.T.A.L.K.E.R's gunplay.

No sound modifications included. I merged the following mods into the Ultimate Edition package:

1. ZRP 1.07 R5 RC (community bug fix patch +)
2. OWR 3 (much better textures/animations for weapons)
3. Photo Realistic Zone 2.1 (the best HD texture pack there is)
4. HD Models Addon (the best model improvement mod there is)
5. Weather Overhaul 3.1.1 (vastly more immersive and improved weather system)
6. InjectSMAA v1.2 (simple anti-aliasing that offers much better imagine quality).

I skipped the ENB because it can be a problem to run, no point in implementing it here because you can always add it later via the download link provided in the summary page.

And the point of the package is to be a collection of mods intended to essentially be a huge graphical update with QoL features included. All flawlessly merged together and incredibly easy to add.

If there's no light source, interiors are going to be very dark because static lightning doesn't work with ENB enabled (one of the limitations of ENB for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.). That isn't a huge issue because most interiors do have light sources, and that limitation is circumvented by the use of the flashlight.

With that said, it should NOT be that dark in the shopkeeper's interior in the first area. Firstly, you should check your monitor brightness. Secondly, i recommend going to the ENB menu (shift + enter in-game) and adjusting the [BLOOM] value and the brightness value in [COLORCORRECTION].

Exteriors are very bright as it is with the current settings, and interiors should be fine.

I wouldn't crank the brightness of the game or gamma. I would bump the brightness one time.

Thanks for the examples, that helps. That's how it's supposed to look; They're slightly blurry depending on position. Can't do much about it because S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s ENB comes with a few negatives besides the positives.

And yes, this is why i didn't include the FOV mod. I never got it to acceptably work, personally. I always encountered wall clipping and such as in your screenshot.

The installation is correct. I apologize for the late reply, and unfortunately i have no idea what could cause that particular issue, allthough i would be interested to know if you've also tried the Non-ENB version.

The Non-ENB version is the meat of the package providing pure texture work and bugfixes. It does not contain the effects injector (ENB), which may be seen as a positive thing because the ENB is much more resource intensive and less stable on machines.

If your game with the Non-ENB version doesn't replicate the issue, then we can be sure that it's the ENB causing it.

Never encountered any issues with textures, but if shadows glitch near the border, then i suggest the r2_sun_near_border fix in the Summary page.

Should be compatible, since it's a package of a number of merged mods. I didn't include Weather Overhaul because it didn't appear stable enough.

The package is intended to be flawlessly stable and easy to add.

Just to be sure that there aren't any unknown issues, the game looks as presented in the videos and the screenshots, right?

In the case that nothing is wrong, then i know what you're referring to. You can't get rid of the effect, that is incorporated in ENB alongside the DoF. You can adjust it though, so it looks appealing for you.

Shift + Enter and change the values in [BLOOM] and [COLORCORRECTION].

Press Shift + Enter to access the ENB Menu, there you can tweak the settings to your liking. There are many to play around with and adjust until you find a perfect color balance that suits your taste.

N-am incercat sa-l folosesc cu un alt titlu din serie in afara primului joc, deci nu pot sa dau o parere. ENB-ul a fost conceput pentru Shadow of Chernobyl, asadar ma indoiesc ca ar functiona cu celelalte.

The ENB itself should work with any version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. regardless of the mods used.

I'll upload the ENB on google drive (it's what i use as a backup for the package) and post the link in the Summary page shortly.
