Hey there, sorry about the late reply, I guess I didn't have notifications turned on. Off the top of my head I unfortunately am not sure what the issue is or even where to start, I never ran into this when I was making the video. Have you tried again since you posted this or figure anything else out?

Just curious, did you test the game prior to installing the HD mod just with the base game files like I did in the video around 7 or 7:30 minutes? Did it work okay without the mod? If so, maybe the MOD creator can provide some more information.

If you are getting a black screen even with just the base game before trying the MOD, I'm not really sure what could be up, it might help narrow the problem down though.

You could also try some simple fixes like making sure you are running as admin and also you could try to run it in compatibility mode for Windows XP or something (I never had to do this but worth a shot). And you said you have tried the fixes on the myabandonware site? I didn't have to use them but I've heard these have helped others.

Thank you! I am glad that the video at least can exist here even if it's not in it's original 1080p. YouTube denied my request to repeal the strike and the video removal. I really don't understand, myabandonware is an actual vendor that has games for sale, they certainly know which games are legally free. And mod DB has been seen in many YT videos, so I really don't get what is causing the removal and they won't tell me.

I am happy that at least one person in the world might get some use out of it though and my efforts weren't completely in vain. Cheers!

Having some issues with YouTube removing my content and striking me, even though everything in this video is 100% legal and in no way promotes piracy. Anyhow, I am going to post the links that were in the YT video description below:

---===IMPORTANT LINKS AND STEPS===---
You will need either WinRar or Winzip/7zip to open the zipped/compressed files. I use WinRAR: Win-rar.com

-=STEP 1: Image Mounting Software=-
LINK 1: VCD Download - Elby.ch
-Click the green "Download" button in the middle
-Only need this if you don't already have a separate image mounting software (daemon, alcohol 120, poweriso, etc)

-=STEP 2: Game Files and Patches=-
LINK 2: The Thing PC files - Myabandonware.com
-Scroll down near the bottom to find the file downloads section
-Download the ISO Version (2nd option, 229 MB)
-Download "NOCD" crack (2 MB)
-Download "PATCH" (patch 1.1-1.2 Euro 3 MB)
-Optional game guide (12 MB)
-Optional fixes if needed

-=STEP 3: HD Overhaul Mod=-
LINK 3: The Thing HD Mod - Moddb.com
-Download all three available options here (The Thing HD, The Thing HD Modded Exe, and The Thing HD New Menu Background)
*I apologize if any of the above links do not work, maybe try to use the way back machine (https://archive.org/web/) to access them at an earlier date when they did work, I do not know of any other locations for these files*

Watsonator - - 6 comments @ Star Wars Textures for GZDoom v2.2

Thanks for all of the hard work, a couple of noob questions:

Is this file here to be used together with the main "Xim's Star Wars Doom"? In other words, I take it that the main file is just for the gameplay aspect (weapons, enemies, classes) while this file here is for the level textures if you are playing original Doom or Heretic levels? You say to "run this with the props," and I notice that the main "Xim's Star Wars Doom" comes with both Xim-StarWarsProps.pk3 as well as Xim-StarWars-v2.9.2.pk3, so if I just need the prop file, what is the main Xim-StarWars-v2.9.2.pk3 for?

Thanks

Watsonator - - 6 comments @ DOOM 64 CE 3.5.0 (Full Version)

Hey there, love all the work you guys have done, quick question though: With the way that GZDoom now writes the ini to the Users folder as "gzdoom.ini" and no longer "gzdoom-user.ini" in the root folder, should I just create a gzdoom_portable.ini in the main Doom64 CE folder? Will this allow it to have it's own set of options that will not interfere with any other gzdoom_portable.ini files in any other folders OR my gzdoom.ini in my User folder correct?

Thanks
