This is a mod you moron. It's not made by Valve and they can't control who downloads it. The mod will REQUIRE Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source. Counter-Strike: Source is needed for many of it's real-world assets. That is all.

What do you want from them? A weekly news post saying "We're not dead, we're working"? More media? They don't want to release to much media so as to not spoil the experience when it's released. There's no reason for news posts when there's no news to report.

Always take it as granted that the team are still working on it. They want to see Black Mesa finished and play it as much as anyone.

BLACK MESA IS NOT DEAD. It just seems to have a large amount of people that dislike it for some reason, and spread rumours of leaks and inactivity. It is far from dead.

Well, most of the team have expressed wishes that they won't. Just doing one mod based on an already existing IP has been lots of trouble for them :P

You can choose between having the SMG or M4. The M4 was from the HD-Pack, and there was a large request for the M4, so it was included as an optional extra
