Mod review

Right off the bat, great mod. The game is greatly improved, new unit models & textures work well and look great. The mod succeeds in it's goal, to improve native. The mod feels very polished, there are few bugs and the new features are very nice.

Stainless Steel

Mod review

I'm mixed on this one, to put in one way. On one hand, it's quite a decent mod, nd it visually it enhances the game quite substantially. Most units are upgraded and look much better. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of how this game is balanced. Units are very very polarized. To clarify, defensive units can only really defend, with even the best spearmen having 5 ish attack. Offensive units have much higher attack, but defense for them is crippling low. I also find that cavalry in this mod is completely ridiculous, to put it simply it just feels downright unfair to play against as your stationary line of spearmen will get completely shredded by a cav force charging into them no matter what unit do. While I understand that this may have been "historically accurate" it makes for quite a frustrating experience and it makes factions like the moors, who by and large lack good shock cav and effective counters to it, very weak. General's bodyguard is also very strong in this mod, which again favours western factions as they get lances which are extremely powerfull in this mod. Practically no unit can survive getting charged by Western generals bodyguard, be it spearmen or archers. The balancing makes the game un enjoyable to play, and playing as ME factions quickly turns into an uphill battle as you are constantly pitted against units and armies that you have absolutely no answer to. Many factions are quite enjoyable though, such as the teutonic order and HRE which are far better than they were in vanilla. It's a good mod to try out but certainly not the best.

Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod Patch 4.1

Mod review

The mod is generally quite good, and I enjoy it a lot. It's essentially an expanded version of vanilla, and I mean that in the best way possible. The campaign is interesting and generally well done. However, this is one of the most tedious mods to install of them all. Even with good internet/pc it can take ~2 hours and if you mess up with one of the three different chunks you need to download you have to start over again. Not fun. I have not personally experienced much crashing with this mod, and it's quite stable as far as I've played. There isn't much to say other than that. Turn times are rather long, but this isn't really the mods fault. I'd say it would be a great mod to start with, but the installation is just so annoying that I don't see anyone new to that kind of thing picking it up.

Total Vanilla Beyond

Mod review

I have to say - I truly enjoyed playing this mod quite a bit. It's achieves exactly what it is intended to, that is, a vanilla + experience. I also really appreciate how fast this mod runs. Many other mods (looking at DaC specifically) have horrendously long turn times, I don't mean this as a criticism as this is mainly caused by Med 2's engine. This mod has very reasonable turn times, with turns taking ~10 ish seconds. The new faction are interesting, though they mostly share units with pre-exisiting ones. I really like the new mechanics added to the game (diaspora, unique buildings in some settlements etc.) they add some nice spice to the game. It retains most of the balance of medieval 2, which is fine. I
prefer the cavalry balance in this mod over the balance in mods like stainless steel, where cavalry is near unstoppable. The mod is a good experience, offering many of the things from medieval 2 as well as some welcome new features. Overall it's pretty dang good. Cheers

Divide and Conquer

Mod review

All- round excellent game. Definitely worth your time. The few issues with this game stem from Medieval 2's engine, and you may have difficulty running the game, especially on lower-end PCs though this isn't a flaw in the mod, moreover, it's just an issue with Med 2. The detail is fantastic, a lot of care has been put into this mod and it truly is an amazing experience.

Falcom Total War 3 : The Total Conquest

Mod review

Good mod, my only issue with it is that it's extremely sporadic. It'll crash for seemingly no reason out of nowhere. They really need to fix the stability on this mod.
