Generally it's more like MTW2 factions with RTW cultures/religions/aesthetics but there are some nods to RTW factions like red, green and blue "Roman" factions in Italy

Bit of a late reply but I am considering returning to it in the near future in order to at least release a beta of some kind.

The list of factions was not completely clear when I last worked on it, and I went back and forth a lot with the Franks. Ideally they'd have a unique syncretic religion with Gallo-Roman and Germanic elements, but I think I left them at Greco-Roman, this combined and their northern european roster made them pretty unique and not just blue HRE. However the engine limits for things like religions and unique buildings etc. is part of why I'd like to move the project to a newer engine. I'm giving real thought to Rome Remastered, Imperium Surrectum is doing great stuff with that engine and the workflow is familiar from Med 2 unlike the warscape games.

Some glitches with the new unit models and text file entry limits put this mod on hold, but I'm considering moving it to Attila

The Allemanian kingdom will start with fewer provinces than the HRE so I guess they technically will. There's basically one faction slot left though and I'm not sure where to use it, so I'm not sure if Saxony will be a playable faction in this campaign. I think Kingdoms-style campaigns centred on smaller geographic areas are a possibility though.

Honestly the faction list is not finalised yet. A lot of them are recognisable from regular Stainless Steel but a bit different (like how England was not conquered by the Normans in this timeline), and there is no Ottonian Holy Roman Empire so there is a Allemanian kingdom in roughly the same place instead. The papal states and crusader factions are absent and the slots will be used to flesh out the East with factions like Assyria.

Probably was, this was really early in development. Did any of the original team stay on until now?

I had a look at the flag files out of curiousity (and cause Poland's flag was invisible on the campaign map and I wanted to see if it was missing) and I see the WW2 submod flags are included in the flag tile. Are they gonna appear in the mod somehow?

Great to see this is still developed, the previews made me reinstall NTW and the current version is really fun. I was marginally involved with TGW back on TWC ages ago doing the faction flags and finding event pictures. Fun that it's still in the mod.

One question, will the minor faction capitals have more building slots in version VI? With only a barracks you're left with no artillery...

Anyway looking great.

I'm wondering that too, a reply from 2020 to a question about putting Bulgaria in said it's impossible, and I remember it was always impossible to change the map on warscape. But recently a Middle Earth Attila mod made progress it seems? Not sure how different that engine is though. The map wouldn't need to be remade IMO but some region subdivisions and border adjustments (especially the Baltic and Balkans) would be pretty neat.
