Well, I'm releasing the ship models whenever they're completed. You can check the news page at my main site.
The main project will be tested internally. I'll post an alert when testers casting starts ;)
I would love to add a gravity feature! Unfortunately, the engine, since we don't have access to the source code, doesn't allow such things :(, so the mere visual aspect of atmospheric fights will have to do :(
But don't worry, I have incorporated some neat feature in to most of those surface models to keep players entertained after all - did you ever fly through a volcanic cave system at supersonic speed? :D
There's already a project running(almost finished), called the TIE Fighter total Conversion. Have a look at Tftc.gaylenol.com.
The site hasn't been updated for a while, since most updates are going in the background and are published at the forums at Xwaupgrade.com..
It should run fine with XP. Maybe check the XWAUP Boards(link below) for some hints. The issue is definitly solvable.
You might want to take a peek at Xwaupgrade.com for the best project related to this game ;)
Actually countless mods have been made for this game for years now. The fact that the majority of the source code remains unreachable sloths things down a little :(

I came in touch with Star Wars at about 13 and have been a dedicated fan ever since. Today I work as system admin and webdesigner and try to find time and muse for some OPTing every now and then. I played X-Wing when it came out in 93, visiting a friend until I got my own computer, with X-Wing Collector's CD being the first game I got for it. Finally came into contact with the X-Wing Community in 2000, when I got my own internet access. I've been drawing and painting since I was a kid, proceeding into 3D modelling in my late teens and progressing and improving for over a decade. Well ... here I am, writing about my life.
