Comments - Varick

Thank you all of the comments and tips. It's reinforcing to hear them when I've only been working with zbrush for a short time.

Hi everyone. Varick here. I'm new to the Lurk team and wanted to show off some work I've been doing.

A very beautiful and impressive weather effects vid! I feel like the Zone is trying to lure stalkers in, such as a mermaid would with sailors. Your work has resulted in a new character being created in the game. The Zone itself.
When reading about this game back in 2005 and before, I felt this was their goal. Sad that it wasn't the case, but at least with LURK it begins to make it feel like the Zone is aware of your trespasses. At least that's my mindset when I play. :)

I had high hopes for SoC while is was in development. I felt so betrayed when I finally played the game the first time. I got through the it but thoughts of what it was where always in my mind. LURK removed what lamentations there were and I enjoyed LURK for LURK.
I feel somewhat disappointed that a lot of naysayers are trying to bring this unique mod back to something vanilla like the retail.
When I want to just loose myself in the zone, I do one of two things. Sometimes I would stalk the car park in cordon. Clear it out and wait for other flies to come into my parlour. I'm the thing that goes bump in the night.
Other times I'm in the lonely Agroprom with my trusty SKS. I hated this gun until I was stuck there dry with naught but a handful 7.62. The gun mechanics are enjoyable for me. I like to sit on the roof and as the sun goes down, drop bandits when they're specks in the distance. It is so satisfying when you account for distance and bullet travel (and recoil:) as your target travels across your field of view.

I like to sneak and snipe, and for the most part LURK allows me to do that somewhat effectively in a beautiful environment.

I would have to say that if you're changing things you've already implemented, perhaps make it so the player can choose between new and old. For instance, the blood removed from the HUD and replaced with the health bar. It's so strange to play games now with HUDs.

Add maps from the BETA SoC :)

YES!!!! I was just telling a friend who is new to stalker that they needed to try only one mod, this one. I sent him this link and I noticed an update! Life is worth living again (in the Zone).
I know this is hard work, and I thank you for doing it.

I really like the handpaint shader of the 3d model. The 3d looks good, but this looks great!

To me this is the only Mod for stalker worth playing. When I had tried others I was always left wishing it had this or that. Not with Lurk. I installed it and enjoyed every facet.
Though it's sad to see it go, I'm glad it was here. You can't ask for more than that. Thank you for the great mod.

Will there be CO-OP?

I am psyched for this addon! I remember finishing the game and thinking back to all the video and screens I've collected waiting for the game to come out, and how none of it was in the game.

Weapons look amazing, and better yet not backwards. vanilla stalker models drove me crazy!

Is there a classic M14 rifle in this mod? if not I'd love to see it, maybe an EBR too, but mainly the classic.
