Thank you! :)
Hi Guys, the project is alive! I was silently working on tons of improvements: Terrain Rendering, Planetary Elements support like Trees/Stones/Grass and 3d Clouds. I've also improved Atmospheric Scattering and Performance
Adding 3d Clouds and support for planetary elements: trees, rocks, building ecc.
A lot of improvements are being done on the planetary generation/rendering, I will soon post an update
Hi, thank you! :) At the moment I can't estimate when an alpha version will be ready, I tried in the past without success, too many 3d engine issues to solve and also family and work tasks. What I can say now is that the 3d engine is working and looking good and I am currently in a phase in which I can dedicate a lot of time and energy to the project, I am also preparing a new video to show all the followers that, despite all the difficulties, I did tons of improvements during the last two years ;)
In this photo all the graphics improvements recently done: Gamma Correction, HDR, Haze/Fog, Realistic Scattering, Level of Detail :)
Good question, yes according to the latest Curiosity photos. Currently the 3d engine uses the Rayleigh and Mie scattering equations to calculate the atmospheric color and this is the result on Mars, I need to add some correction factor for planets with low density atmospheres like Mars :)
Thank you guys for the encouragement!
Thanks Popche! Best wishes to you! :)
I still do not have a precise date range. But I am going to dedicate more time on the project in the next months. :)
P.S. Nice blog! ;)
Yes it is working but I don't send updates since 2015. I was a lot busy and also blocked because of the name issues. With the new name I will be more active also with the mailing list. Thanks a lot for the encouragement! :)
Of Course :) There will be three play options: tutorials, instant action and campaign. The first mode will include the basic training missions to learn maneuvers, take off/landing and basic combat, the instant action will have several missions in a growing difficulty. In the third mode you have complete freedom to travel/explore and follow a main storyline.
Yes, don't worry these are royalty free assets that you can buy to use in videogames ;) I know it can be annoying but each single indie developer do always its best to make its game unique, if it can't be the graphics, it will be the gameplay ;)
Yes soon. I will also post a new video ;)
Hi! The latest video shows a seamless trip from earth to mars. Watch it here: Indiedb.com
The next one will show some dogfight action and a seamless interstellar travel ;)
Trying to add 100000 real stars. The number of stars can be selected in the graphics options according to the PC power. Each star has its own planetary system and can be reached seamlessly.
Finally a very important step is completed: Windows porting! I am now actively working on the final steps: assets and missions. Stay tuned ;)
Hi! Thanks for the nice comment! :) Yes, I know but my idea is to make a new kind of mixed flight/space simulator game including the advantages of both the games. I always enjoyed so much landing airplanes on flight sims and in the same time I always wanted to go into space so I included both my passions ;)
Thaaanks! :) No it's from the Mac OSX in low detail mode. During development I use to set the planetary details to minimum to speed up the debug ;)
