Basically, the term "bunny jumping" isn't even used in the realm of Quake games. Jumping is a core mechanic of game play there. I'm not saying this to prove you wrong, on the contrary, it's to prove your point. Players learn to use the most effective strategies and techniques, allowed by the game, to beat the competition. That's why features in gameplay need to be balanced out and bugs/glitches/exploits removed. Personally I think the term "bunny jumping" emerged with the games that had a "realistic" setting, u wouldn't probably jump around like a maniac if u were a soldier in the field. I think in some games, networks latency makes players jumping around even harder to hit and in that case it might constitute as an exploit. But the bottomline is, if it works in the game, not giving unfair advantage to only some, fine! It's really an issue for the game designers to deal with, not the players.
Next time, just go for "persons", instead of "men (or women)", we wouldn't want to alienate the girls, right? I know the intention was NOT to, but the distinction does the opposite.
Picture it like a instakill minefield used in games to prevent a player to progress one way or another, just to hide the level boundaries... (bloody poor game design if u ask me) ;)
Art direction is not necessarily about originality or having wild, crazy ideas.
It's about making a product with an consistent feel to it, based on it's original concept. All nominees seems to have very good art direction in my opinion.
You really need to provide some information on what is required to run this mod, sdk base? hl2? ep1? ep2?
I can't get it to run, shows up in steam games list, but just loads sdk base.
Also i tried the .exe installer certainly seems to "install" all files, but there's no trace of them on the hard drive!
Looks good, nice work. I guess the train carts act as placeholders for buildings atm., but i felt that the way 'forward baracks' works in 'Company of Heroes' (garrison an empty building, and ugrade it to a barack), might work pretty nice with the theme of the HL2 universe. Still, i haven't got a clue if it would fit to the game design.
The developement will be very interesting, good luck! :)
