what you should do is make a realism mode and an extra-realism mode the extra realism mode would give you lower health (closer to the same as the zombies) little to no ammo but, the weapons would be more realisic and do enough damage to kill a zombie in 1-3 shots and you would need to find food and you could find survivors like in hl2 when the citizens follow you around they would follow you around and other stuff that makes it as realistic as possible.

that doesn't mean we can't plus he never said how far into the future this is, it could be in a few years so there would be new weapons and stuff most likely. another thing I think all of us on the dev team are just as die-hard as you are I know I am.
