Other then some small project in the TES level editors for Morrowind and Oblivion, I didn't really start modding until Mass Effect 3 came around. Since then I helped the ME3Explorer team, mainly with writing the code for sound imports and created content like the Mass Effect Ending Mod (MEEM) and the Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod (MEHEM). In the process, I learned a lot especially about manipulating UE3 with UDK as well as on HEX edit level.

Nope, the cut-off for the "good" MEHEM ending is somewhere around 2600.

Unfortunately, v0.5 only supports the English version of the game (if you use another language, you'd need to go to you in-game settings and change the language to English). Support for other languages is planned in the future.

This happened after MEHEM v0.5 instillation? That's odd because no MEHEM files should be laoded until after the game starts.
Which language are you using? Are you using any other mods besides MEHEM? Check "Your ME3 install directory>\BioGame\DLC\": Can you see a folder called "DLC_CON_MEHEM" and if so, how big is it?
Of course, you can also try to uninstall MEHEM and ME3, delete all files in your ME3 install directory and re-install.

The mod does not need to be activated. If it is installed, it should just kick in at the ending.
You should also get a few new emails during your playthrough (the first one, you should already have when first checking emails, it will have the subject line "Our debt to you").

Unfortunately, MEHEM v0.5 currently only supports the English version of the game. For the mod to work, you need to set the game language to English. This will be addressed in the next version. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry, MEHEM is PC only. There is no way to install any Mass Effect content mod on the consoles that I know of I'm afraid.

Yes, MEHEM v0.5 and MOAM will work together without issues.

And yes, just download the file, start the installer and follow the instructions on screen.

The installer is self executing and will guide you through the process. Basically, installing the mod works just like installing any other program, just double click the setup file and follow the instructions on the screen.

This is odd, the installer for MEHEM v0.5 should have installed the DLC patcher, that solves the authorization issue. I am not sure why this didn't happen in your case but you can try to install the DLC patcher manually. See here: Me3explorer.wikia.com

The most prominent change is the addition of JohnP's LI mod for the memorial scene. However, this will only impact your game if you romance Jack or Miranda. All other improvements are either technical or minor. Here is the complete change log:

MEHEM v0.5 changelog (24. 02. 2015):
New features and improvements:
- The mod is now a DLC
- JohnP's additional LI mod is implemented
- New final Normandy flyby scene (the one that is already on yt)
- Adjustments to the credits
Fixes:
- Most problems with the installer should be a thing of the past, since MEHEM is now a DLC
- NG+ not working after playing through MEHEM is fixed
- Subtitles (speaker names) are fixed
- Video timing has been slightly adjusted
- Emails are corrected for spelling/grammar (thnaks to RPGenius and giftfish)
- Cpt. Fob's email now triggers properly
- If you want to combine MEHEM with JohnP's extended Anderson conversation mod, the music fix is no longer necessary

If you want to install v0.5, yu definitely need to uninstall v0.4. I recommend to first uninstall v0.4, then do a full re-install of your game and then install v0.5. It's the best way to make sure that everything will work.

The extended cut is required for the mod. Also, please get a legal copy of the game.

Glad to hear it worked out. :) Something must have gone wrong during the initial install. I guess, you loaded an autosave from within the ending itself for this test? That's probably why you see the platform. When playing MEHEM straight through from the beam run without loading, you shouldn't see the platform and the screen should remain black between the cutscenes.

Hmmm, this sounds like a odd issue, never heard of something like this with v0.5. Technically, the DLC mod should be the highest priority and should be loaded instead of anything else.
Also, three questions that may help me understand the problem:
- Do you use MEHEM together with other content mods?
- Do you use MEHEM together with texture mods (and if so, did you follow the install guide that is linked in the installer)?
- Do you play the game in English? (If not, try setting both Audio and text language to English and see if it runs properly then.)

If you think none of the above should be a problem, maybe, try to uninstall the game, then manually delete the game folder (where the pcc files are, NOT where the saves are) and then do a completely new install with MEHEM v0.5.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, hopefully we can figure it out.

MEHEM will work with the PC version of ME3, no matter if you bught it alone or as part of the trilogy edition. All you need for MEHEM to work is the Extended Cut DLC, which is free and can be downloaded via Origin, once you have ME3. AFAIK, EA is still selling all the other story DLCs separately, there doesn't seem to be a GOTY for ME2/3 that would include them. But as I said, you don't need to buy any extra DLC for MEHEM to work.

It's a rar archive. Windows should be able to extract it but if you can't try to download Winrar to extract the file (just google winrar, should be easy to find, it's free).

The extended Cut is required for MEHEM to work properly.
The cut off for the high EMS ending is around 2650 EMS which is pretty low so no MP or DLCs are required to get it.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way t make this mod work on the xbox. Even if we could adapt the code and mod data, the main part of the problem is that the console is protected against this kind of modification, so a hardware mod to unlock the console would be required and we don't want people to mess up their consoles. Same goes for the PS3. Sorry.

Not exactly but check out CEM (the Citadel Epilogue Mod) by Deager. It provides some further post ending gameplay.

I believe, I answered you some time ago on a different forum but just for the record, if anyone has a similar problem, you will need to run ME3Explorer's AutoTOC tool on the main game and all DLC. This should not be necessary to do under normal circumstances but if you have the problem, try this solution (you can find more info on AutoTOC on the ME3Explorer forums).

Unfortunately, the XBox (and the PS3) are very unfriendly to mods. Even if you were to translate the mod itself to the console somehow, you'd still need to mod your hardware in order to make it run. So I'm afraid there is currently no way to translate the mod to consoles. Sorry.

Hi,
The mod should work with the latest version of the game. The only imprtant thing is to turn the automatic updates off in the Origin settings, once the game is updated to the latest version. This is not done to prevent any game update (the last patch from BioWare is more than a year old, so I doubt there will be any more) but rather to prevent Origin from overwriting mod files.
As for the mod itself working, You can check if you got the new email during the game. If you got the emails, that is a good indication that the mod works. You can find a description of the emails here:
Me3explorer.freeforums.org

Apart from the emails, the mod will not change anything until the beam run, (where you should hear Harbinger talk) and then the actual ending itself. If you do have problems, let me know here or in the MEHEM thread on the bioware forums and we will try and sort it out.

Just to be clear, of course, it is still a mod, it is just added as a DLC. As for the updates, you still need to leave them off. This is not a problem however, as BioWare no longer updates ME3 (and has not done so for years), so it's not like you miss out on anything. For other origin games, you will still see a small symbol on the top right corner of your game in the Origin game list. You can then update those games by right clicking and selecting "check for updates". Just leave the automatic updates off and do not update ME3 when asked.

MEHEM only changes the ending of the game. I am afraid, any characters that die before are not altered. For Thane, there is ThaneMod but I am not aware of any mod that changes Legion's fate, sorry.

Changing the EMS in Gibbed does not work properly for the endings (not even in the original game). In general, MEHEM or any other mod is not designed for Gibbed changes and may act in weird ways when using modified savegames. Try using an unmodified save to get the correct ending.

No, sorry. You can choose between the Suicide Mission track and Shotgun Julia's new music during the install. The old ending music only features during the low EMS ending in the mod. I'm afraid there is no easy way to change this back. You'd have to "mod the mod" in order to do that.
