First of all i have to say that the idea of the mod itself is quite impressive. However, you can still sense a lack of work and polishing of the mod, while playing it. The feeling of this being a "fan" mod (even if it really is) does not leave you throughout the game process.
So i thought i could write a small review of the Edain mod, which hopefully people will see and maybe have some thereabouts before downloading it.
1. The idea of splitting Men and Elves into two factions each gives you a better variety of which faction to choose. So, for example, instead of having almost no place for Rohan units in the faction of Men, you now have a full Rohan army with peasants from BFME I and it's own Heroes.
2. I was surprised to see good old Tainted Land and had a nostalgic moment since i remember old RTS War Of The Ring. However, in my opinion, it ruins competitive gaming, since you have to waste your time on building watchtowers, meanwhile your enemy will already have some troops.
3. When it comes to Isengard some of the prerequisites are ridiculous: ex. 10 Furnaces for Uruk Pit or 20 for Armory. I mean, come on, it's not a bad idea but you have to lower the numbers, really.
4. When playing for Mordor, some prerequisites remain kind of complicated and confusing, maybe it's just me being dumb. But, honestly, you have to work some more on this. It goes for prerequisites in all factions, some of them just make the game more complicated, but not a little bit more fun to play.
