I honestly can't wait for the new site with its moderated forums....that should cut most of the ******** that goes on in this one by a few certain people demanding a mod release when it is clearly not finished!
If xxx.xxx.xxx has donated to dezowave and has his own character in the zone I would be the first one to push him into a fruit punch anomaly then throw what's left to the Snorks from off the NPP tower...
Just finished playing SOC again :) Does anyone else feel that the endgame gives you a great sense of purpose and the feeling that you have really achieved something big and against all odds :D
I just love the story and how the zone was made by human tampering and interfering in things they did not understand but for all the right reasons but then going bad - disturbing and ironic don't you think?
Yeh i see you idea, would be more diverse and interesting but whether dezowave team will have time to do something like that is upto them otherwise third party mods ahoy! :)
Why would there be other strength profiles?
weak, normal, strong pretty much defines it all unless you would prefer weak, weak+1, weak+2...etc :) there will probably be some new skins but LA won't be much of a texture mod (unless this has changed?)
This is just a quick trivial question but how stable is the npc's using grenades against you?
I wouldn't have asked except I was playing OL mod the other day and some military reject thought it would be a great idea to toss a grenade from a few miles away to land pinpoint at my feet! Was not a happy Stalker :(

I'm not sure if there was any animations for npc's climbing ladders, not sure though but yeh would definitely be a good idea :)
They just keep getting better and better :) So glad to see soldiers using SVD in cordon which will make stealth much more important, plus if you do manage to take it off him I doubt you wont be able to find ammo for it until a bit later making the whole weapon system more dynamic in terms of not working your way through the tiers of weaponry. It's much more diverse to find a really good weapon near the start with limited ammo than to find one late game with tonnes of ammo as this adds to the survival theme where ammo is conserved.
Sorry but no new mutants will be created only ones that have been re-added back into the game plus all existing mutants. Check the FAQ for more info.
That's great news, hopefully this forum can get back to the way it used to be - when everyone talked about lost alpha and not petty ideology :)
Is lost alpha still on track then? I hope the "hacking" problem was sorted :)

I agree you've come to far to back down now, plus like psythrandir said you may not know how much they took. I hope this gets sorted quickly, an uncertain day for stalker fans.

I think we should steer ourselves back to the topic of the game and LA because i don't know about anyone else but the past few pages have been pretty poor in content - seems people have forgotten what the original Stalker was all about :(
I gotta say i'm really looking forward to this: Dez said in one of the new screen shots that some areas of the underground levels will be near pitch black - finally a chance to make use of the flash light which was pretty much useless in vanilla plus more realism since i was always puzzled by why lights were still working lol maybe there will even be an opportunity to turn on the lights via a back up generator somehow, who knows? But it's great to see how far the dezowave team have come with this mod within the past few months, keep it up! :)

I think once this Mod is finished The dezowave team deserve around of applause and unlimited gratitude.
I honestly don't know how they put up with...."When is the mod ready?" and "Release it now!" and even more annoying "Oh oh oh can you add this..." - would have driven me insane and I would have abandoned the project long ago, so well done for the patience :)
I didn't think a **** had the physical attributes necessary to operate a keyboard....obviously I was mistaken...
It's amazing how far Lost Alpha has come in the past year or two, it really has been a stalker's journey and the best bit a new journey will begin playing it :)
If i remember dez said that monolith and bandits are neutral or friends if you where a bandit suit plus it allows you to enter their base and apparently if you do get too close they will spot you.
Yeh they were brilliantly designed areas except they could have been longer in length, but for me that was what the original Stalker was all about :)
I second this, Vanilla only had a few difficult anomaly fields to get through - most notably the tunnel in the garbage.
More areas like this are a must. The more you risk - the more you earn :)
On the oblivion lost 2.2 mod i would have several stashes throughout each area that are marked on the map with those GPS devices.
Fair comment, but:
People who don't use the cross hair use iron sights instead and firing from the hip only works in the movies.
And its still pointless to mix different ammo in one clip and you can say "ap round after every forth fmj round" but you'll lose count, then you end up facing a exo clad enemy and you end up wasting bullets to reach your ap rounds.
I know your just throwing in a feature you want but its so much easier and realistic to simply switch ammo clips depending on the type of enemy. Otherwise your just creating pointless confusion and difficulty.
Why would there be a point to having multiple types of ammo in one clip when we could just stick with the usual switch ammo types to tackle various enemies. Sorry but its kind of pointless.
