I understand where you're coming from. A lot of this Half-Life 2 frenzy has gotten out of hand. I appreciate you acknowledging the work mod teams are doing, and the fact that Insurgency appears to be on top of their game. I do agree with you as well, that perhaps we at Moddb should look at further defining Mod of the Month, or even creating seperate catagories based on various criteria. I admit that I overlooked such nessessities when I picked this month's winner, but I stand by my previous statement on what I felt the Mod of the Month award stood for. Thanks for stopping by, reading the article, and commenting on it. I appreciate your support and suggestions.

If I'm not mistaken, the Mod of the Month award goes to the development team that encompasses all of the nuances of the artform. It goes to the mod that demonstrates artistic merit, organization, determination, and creativity. A final product doesn't always have to be released to demonstrate the traits and characteristics of a development team. We give out this award to any team that has consistenly shown a true spirit for game design and embodies that spirit on a regular basis. This month we felt that Insurgency fell into this catagory better than any other mod team. We stand by our selections and hope to give some recognition to the work being done in this industry.

Excellent! Too bad my lack of photoshop and artistic skills keep me from entering. Maybe I can do a quick patchwork piece and slip some *bling* *bling* along with the file. Yeah, that's what I'll do...

You guys get major brownie points for even getting a beta released to the public, and in working order. You have already surpassed the vast majority of budding developers. Modding as a hobby can be a major strain on one's life, but in all honesty the pride you should feel for accomplishing something so few others do should more than outweigh any negative conocations that modding has unleashed upon you. Great work all around, and good luck in the future.

What a suprise! I wasn't expecting a demo already. I'm ashamed to admit that I checked into the Hanna Barbara Clinic after my addiction to RCT. I hope I don't get consumed by this latest fruitation of digital crack.

Thanks for the kind words ice. I can assure you that the same level of detail is going in to gameplay as it did in our models. Not detail is spared. We hope to see you around the site, and ultimately in game.

I'd thought I'd start off our comments with a quick intro and look into Resistance and Liberation. We started out as a small team looking to mod Ghost Recon because our focus was similar. We wanted to create more of tactical sim of WW2 instead of the typical arcade fps you see today. We're looking to extend battlefields over larger distances, encourage use of iron sights, reward players who work together, and provide interesting objectives within the maps to promote their completion. After we decided that Ghost Recon may not be the solution to our needs, we found the UT2K3 engine. Not long after researching it's new capabilities we were convinced our goals could be met. So here we are now with several weapon models completed, two maps in progress, a full campaign scheduled for first release, and an American GI player model. Progress is continually being made and we expect a strong release soon after the release of UT2K3. I hope you guys stop by the forums from time to time and chat with us. We're open to all questions and ideas, so don't hesistate to ask. See you on the battlefield.
