Yes I know I am weird for this.
I actually remember how I downloaded this mod years ago.

In a time where the starfyre studios website was actually still up and running properly but was blocked by many AV scanners and firewalls for no reason.
And as a result rarely anybody visited the site/downloaded the mod. Later to become extinct.

I bypassed said filters and went to onto the reported dangerously site anyways and found a download link leading me to the mod on .. gamefront I believe it was. Been sitting on my drive ever since till I uploaded it here.

Just came across this post, remembered I actually have it somewhere, found it, uploaded it.
Bit late, but enjoy I guess.

Actually, it was suposed to be released a year ago already, there are some people who have been waiting like 18 months to see this, and all they hear pretty much hear is "soon". And it has been at 99% for several now months already.

Now last week there was a leak, and I actually managed to get my hands on the files then, I have seen the full thing, And I have also seen there still is some work to do and it is not at the claimed 99%. I would safely say its 95+ though. And progress is still being made even right now yes. I have actually seen the few file updates here and there from the updater.

And before anybody asks, no I wont give these files out, hell I dont even have them anymore. And even if I did, I still would not.
Take a look at my previous posts regarding this mod, I have always been supporting this mod. And still do.

Believe it or not, few years ago I was actually a FL modder myself, and I know a thing or 2 more then most modders would, but some of the things I have seen in this mod go far behond that.

I can tell you, it is worth the wait.

My comment was mostly sarcastic in regards to that very leak.

I am seriously starting to give up hope of ever seeing this mod released, leave alone this year.

I'd die.

Please take a look in the changelogs and actual graphics menu.

Be great if that^ (post of Huor) could be stickied to stay ontop of all other posts so all people can read it before they complain xD

Personally, I could easily wait a few more months if it means we get something HQ rather then something the same size but fully rushed, like most games released these days.
In the end, even if you don't realise it you do notice as the game simply wouldn't be that enjoyable.

I think the problem lies with people being tired of waiting to recieve something that was already promised to them a long time ago.

Now of course there are reasons for this, but most people don't know or don't see why these take so long, to most people they would only sound like small and little things that can be done in a matter of days. Yet here they are waiting for months already. It is quite understandable where their complaining comes from their clueless point of view ...lol.

The server configuration is almost done and the tests were better than expected. Most features are running without any issues but there are a few probs which need to be fixed prior the release.
What I can tell atm is that during the entire tests we didnt experience and performance problems or crashes.
I am sure that once Huor is back from vacation the remaining issues can be fixed pretty fast so the mod can be released then."

So Huor should be back today, most likely tomorrow actually since it be sunday then.
Personally I would say a week maybe, but don't take my word for it.

I agree, I recently picked up the game again, installed 1.9 went to play the campaign, ended the normal one and at the very beginning of the new missions I decided to look if there was an patch or something available to fix the (sorry,) awful voice acting.
Thats when I found out 2.0 was as good as done (with new voices) except testing.
So I decided to get things ready for it. Just need it released now.
IMO would be well worth the wait, as certain bugs are fixed and the whole general quality is higher. (graphics sounds, and what not)

At least there still are people out there who still work on such an relatively old game as Freelancer. Without these people there would not even be MP right now.

I would actually start tracking this page, if you don't look here every day you will be notified by email when it is out.
