Eldritch mansion is canceled. I want to become a mapper for many games such as CS:GO, Half-Life games, Garry's Mod, Team Fortress 2, (possibly Left 4 Dead 1 or 2,) and obviously, Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I also have a Youtube channel, but I don't upload that frequently.

Hey thanks for the reply, I'm actually still a beginner in mapping myself. For the modeling I know there is a method for textures where you can just take the original texture for a model, lets say the zombie and make a copy or something like that, and draw over the texture. I'm sure there are videos of that somewhere, I don't know how to do it exactly so I wouldn't recommend without watching a video because I don't want to ruin the original textures and I don't think you do. The actual model itself, I'm pretty sure you can just cut off the headcrab (if the model is a zombie) and replace it with a scientist head and smooth the shoulders, I know a program that you can make models for HL in, it's called Milkshape. There is a trial but after that you have to pay for it. The animation is where I'm also stuck. I don't know how HL animations work and I don't know the program or programs.

In my opinion I think it's really good for a first mod. It isn't super scary but it is decent at scaring, but I feel like it relys too much on jumpscares which don't really bother me. It has a nice look to it, and I like the design, but It does have a few issues. One of the main ones being how pitch black it is. The HL flashlight is garbage, which can make it instead frustrating to play the game instead of being scared. I think it's fine if it's used indoors but for an outdoor location (like the forest) I think it should be atleast barely visible outside, but enough that you won't see the enemies, but can see where you are going.

Also, I feel like it's too similar to AoM. I noticed you used a few of those textures from it, and the viewmodel, the zombies and how they twitch and use the same sound, even the start felt a little bit similar. But I think the best part of this mod was the start. But I like how you made secret areas, that is a great thing to do.

I will start making a story first, then make the map for the mod. I will make a story, but start working on the actual mod during summer, as school gets in the way of things.

My first mod ever will be a horror themed Half-Life 1 mod, it will have custom weapons and (probably) custom animations, and the weapons and other things will have custom sounds of course. And as well as custom monsters. It will also have custom textures, and a story. I don't know if it will suck ***, be canceled because it being hard to make, or if it will be amazing because I started making maps only a month ago or something like that.

Thanks, but as I said It's cancelled for now, as I'm focusing on Hammer, specifically HL1. As soon as I finish that I'm gonna continue development on this.

GUYS I FIGURED OUT HOW TO DOWNLOAD! Thank me later

Go to Local disk (C:)/ Program Files / SIERRA / HALF LIFE /
there will be the folder you put into the steam half life folder in all caps called "MISTAKE"
So take that and drag it to your desktop (for now) and then go to Steam, Steam Apps, Common Half-Life, and just drag the folder called "MISTAKE" in the half life folder. Exit and restart steam and BOOM it's in your library.
