The map crashes for me after I finish loading. What am I supposed to do then?

I think National Guard soldiers should be enemies. Like a 3rd faction in the game. That would certainly spice up some new scenarios.

Press X to aim down your sight. Sometimes the gun has a MG on it, and therefore right-click only shoots the MG. Remember, that the bullet ballistics are important and therefore you should take note how the shell will fly towards the target. If you however can't even move the barrell while aiming, then the problem is in the game or in the computer installation.
