OpenAL and Ogg Vorbis Sound should be able to do at least 4 stereo sound - Although you may want to look into ALSA sound management as another option when the time comes.

Did something interesting - since the WinXP (ie crapola) decided to have a fatal crash and take everything with it... I loaded Kubuntu 64 on my AMD Athlon 64 2700+ w/ 3/4GB shared DDR 400 Ram (it shares 128MB with the nVidia 6100 onboard video)...
Should have a full running Blender on it by end of the day :D
Yeah, looks interesting - and I like world building and controlling... :D - never seen a version where once it's started you can actually BE in your little world :D
Artists in charge create textures for use as world textures, hence not skins for models. The default texture dimension is 512x512 for detailed textures and 256x256 or less for simple textures. Additional high resolution textures of 1024x1024 are optional. Format used by the epsylon project are TGA, PNG, and JPG. More formats are available through modules installable by the player. The engine allows for advanced textures using a special skin file format. The artists in charge can hence make simple image textures or work with the skin file directly.
Texture created this way have to have at last a Diffuse Image (color), preferable a Normal Image and Specular Image, and optional a Transparent Image. All images can be done automatically using the skin file if needed. Advanced texture effects are available through the skin file
Downloading it now to check out the action - I've been playing turn based online games with this theme - I think it should be interesting to see some real-time action.. :D
