We've solved the lags, but for now the tutorial zone is disabled. Aside from that the game is fully playable though. We're working on fixing bugs and improve the content.

Depends on what you have in mind exactly as hybrid build, but there is room for experimentation. About graphics, we already added a lot of new stuff from the Fallout community, there is no plan for much more at this time.

Hello! Thanks for your comment.

We can actually very easily close the doors to a faction, preventing any new character to join it for a time. But we want first to observe what players will do on their own. Depending on how it goes, we'll know what to do.

The game balance is really different than other FOnline games you might have played. Being skilled as a player can really make a difference, more than numbers. We also have other measures to encourage small groups to challenge bigger ones, for example PvP rewards that are scaled based on your actions. If you can't shoot anyone because all enemies have already been killed by others, you'll gain less for your participation.

Playing in large groups will be quite difficult actually, because you can't jump right away on your enemies in AoP. Try to guide 50 fighters through such a dangerous place as Phoenix, and you could lose quite a few guys on the way ;)

We're still including some feature upgrades and fixes, some new stuff here and there, but mostly polishing. It will be impossible to completely finish the game, there's always some new cool stuff to introduce. So, as soon as we're certain it can be launched, we'll do it. Several days probably, perhaps a few weeks. Not long, that's for sure.

We do not own the Fallout licence, of course. ;) as stated on our website, Ashes of Phoenix requires files from Fallout 2 to be played, so you need to own a copy. AoP is a completely free to play game too, we didn't do it to make any money. We just want to show our love for Fallout and propose our own vision of it, and hopefully, produce a great game as well ;)

Hello. Thanks for your comment!

We actually didn't come up with that real-time combat concept, it was existing already on other Fallout fan games. After all, I think anyone could imagine how bad a turn-based fight would be with 50+ characters involved. You would soon fall asleep playing such combat.

However, what we did bring is a new balance and some major improvements. While so far, the good old fancy action points system from Fallout games was used without any change to it (which implied a lot of issues), we decided to go for a 100 action points basis for every character. That way, balancing actions and weapons can be achieved properly. Also, agility now affects the amount of action points you regenerate when running, instead of the max AP you can have. Consequence is that agile characters are very mobile during combats, and remain efficient while moving, as opposed to low agility chars which will have to remain still to maximize their AP regeneration (and so combat efficiency).

There is more to say about it, but you got the main arguments :)
