The Shadow of the Ramlord contains great voice acting, storyline and usage of sound, lighting and level design. The Caecea Manor feels like a real place, except full of demonic presence and ancient secrets. Exploring the manor is truly a great treat for both the eyes and mind, as the environments are fantastically designed and put together and every little detail serves a purpose in the narrative.

However, where the mod falls flat is it's scare factor. It's unnerving for sure, the stone statues that seem to watch you from afar are extremely creepy and the description of the monsters makes chills run down one's spine, but it never goes into action. The monsters are based entirely of sound effects, which loose their effect once you realize it.

However, this isn't a huge problem for this mod as there isn't but one area that tries actively to instill you with a sense of dread.

As already mentioned, the story and the narrative aspects of it are wonderful. The writing is spectacular and makes one feel uneasy on it's own.

Overall, the mod is really good, but a few real monster encounters would have definitely improved it.

Absolutely fantastic mod. It scared me all the way to the end. I have seen this mod's monster several times before playing this mod, but none of those have come even close to the fear I felt in this mod for that monster. And that's saying something considering that I already know what the monster looked like and still got scared of it.

The story was one of the best I have ever experienced and it kept my interest all the way through. The voice acting was excellent.

The level design was really impressive. The lighting was amazing and all the custom models fitted perfectly to the game. In my opinion this mod looked like a horror game from nowadays or a remake of Amnesia: The Dark Descent/A Machine for Pigs.

The only complain I have is that some of the puzzles were really hard. I spend roughly around 30 minutes trying to figure out one puzzle and had to ask help a few times from the developer. Btw, major kudos to the developer who responded very quickly and was willing to help me whenever I needed his help.
