Also known as Ori'verda, Te Dar Mand'alor and Mandalore the Regent. Tyrian was a slave from Sleheyron who fought in gladiatorial rings for the Hutt Lords under tutelage of Telana, a retired gladiator.
When the Hutt's crowned him champion of their arena's, they were off set by the popularity of the warrior who had enough power over the people to convince them to rise up. So they gave him more difficult matches, always he beat it and his popularity grew until the Hutt's simply decided it was time to remove him.
Telana caught wind of this and arranged for Tyrian to escape the system, the two were discovered during the escape attempt and Telana died holding off the Hutt forces with a Lightsaber, revealing herself to be a Jedi.
Hutt space forces attacked the smuggler ship Tyrian was on, when the vessel entered hyperspace with a damaged navcomputer it was sent off course and crash landed on the world of Mandalore. There, Tyrian became a Mandalorian and would eventually become the one who united the clans and found the first Mandalorian Empire.
Originally Tyrian fought alongside the Jedi and was the only Mandalorian and non-Force user to be on the High Council. His Mandalorian Fleet captured many systems from the Sith, systems that would later be the foundation of the First Mandalorian Empire.
It is not known when the Lord Kairn entered the service of the Te Dar Mand'alor, but it is known that at the same time, relations with the Jedi took a turn for the worse as Tyrian was cast out of the Jedi High Council.
Te Dar Mand'alor, several other prominent Mandalorian commanders and the Sith Lord Kairn led an assault on the Core Worlds, the victories were cut short when the Jedi allied themselves with the Sith against the Mandalorians. Despite losing at Coruscant itself, the Mandalorians fought the Sith to a stalemate above Kuat.
Thus Jedi and Mandalorian signed the Treaty of Kuat.

But the Mandalorians did not forget their defeat, nor did they crawl back to their territory to lick their wounds. Under Te Dar Mand'alor there was a massive expansion and the First Mandalorian Empire was founded and with it the Cold War began. Meanwhile the Jedi founded the Galactic Alliance.
The Cold War was tense, many proxy wars were conducted. Among them the Rendili Crisis, the Mandalorians failed twice and it was only when Te Dar Mand'alor and Lord Kairn took action themselves that the Crisis was broken and Rendili taken. The New Galactic Republic who owned Rendili was forced it to give away and much of their territory.
The First Mandalorian Empire funded the founding of other factions, the Chiss Republic and New Sith Order.
One of the last proxy wars that led to the Cold War to become a Hot War was the genocide of the Grey Jedi, their Empire was destroyed quickly but they offered resistance by hijacking Galactic Alliance Fleets, the result was that the Jedi actually joined the battle in order to get their Fleets back. Something that was an act of war.
Swiftly the Mandalorians and their allies attacked the Galactic Alliance, but the Jedi were waiting for Te Dar Mand'alor and nearly defeated him. Meanwhile Mandalorian allies pulled out of the war. A ceasefire was signed once more, Te Dar Mand'alor died shortly before the Silentium invaded.
