That sort of problem I never experienced, is that a standard map? or custom made one?

The only pagans are the Hunni and spreading the faith is needed to counter unrest. So every religion has it's own buildings. Unlike the original version there is state religion only.

and did you change directory when installing? Because it needs to be installed into medieval total war/mods/IB2 otherwise some files cannot find it. I am talking about the banners on the strategic map, those in the config file are for the battle map.

to both have you changed the directory name? to work properly it has to be installed to mods/IB2

Will post tomorrow a possible fix for the banner issue, I guess you run gold edition? I can't test it because I don't have the problem.

It is the same era, though focused on the last days of the West Roman Empire (so no East Roman Empire)

This mod is largely based on one of their mods, started as a submod than became an overhaul mod and now since almost everything is redone except the unit models and the base map it has become a mod of it's own.
