I've learned not to look that deeply into what people say as it's mostly a reflection of themselves. Honesty's an attribute of the truly brave- a privilege of the very few.

The Witch-er 3 is a masterpiece, and in many respects simply the best and most exciting game in recent years. It captivates players with artistic vision, a huge world and an epic story.
Game design is uncompromising, consistent, thoughtful and nuanced. A beautifully crafted world and powerful characters.
I'm inclined to admit this ending is fitting and satisfactory.
Though in general I agree, I think the game design is anything but nuanced. The combat is basically the dodge-and-swing combat of Dark Souls except it doesn't have the weapon variety, which is a loss; the leveling system makes it really annoying to explore the world as areas are gated by monsters who are one level higher that you and there for one-hit-kill you; You will constantly find equipment that is significantly better, but several levels too high and by the time you get to that level you realize that it's no better than anything else at that level. Don't get me wrong, Witcher 3 is a great game, but let's not pretend it's a flawless masterpiece.
I also think people tend to be too inclined to say things like 'best game in recent years,' let's look at, and appreciate, some of the other amazing games that have come out since 2015. Bloodborne, Undertale, SOMA, Axiom Verge, DOOM, Inside, Darkest Dungeon, Persona 5, Prey, Nier: Automata, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Hollow Knight, God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Sekiro. Each of these games are probably just as good as Witcher 3, don't discount the past 5 years of great games...except 2018+19, these past two years have been pretty rough.
Wild Hunt is a perfect example of how to do an open world RPG with in-depth quests. An extraordinary journey from star to end. A rich and mesmerizing world full of significant decisions and a feeling of intelligent and epic fantasy.
Oh I completely agree.
I kind of think the ending where Ciri becomes empress is better as I think it should provide the world with better stability.
