Witch-er books

I've been meaning to read these novels for a while now. Since there's this strict, international quarantine, I can finally give it a shot. I'm thinking of replaying witch-er games, especially Wild Hunt.
I haven't watched the witch-er TV-series yet. Can anyone tell me if it's any good or should I skip it and mainly focus on books? On the other hand, I watched the polish version(TV-show) and it's fairly good. I assume the new one is better in terms of choreography and visuals.
When it comes the witch-er saga, the Wild Hunt video game instantly crosses my mind. Do you think it's the best part of the whole lore?
If you already read all books, tell me which novel you like the most.
I watched one episode of the show and it's confusing unless you read the book. They cut out a lot of the interesting exposition/setup resulting in some pretty rough pacing and uncertainty regarding character motivations.
This does a good job of explaining that. (Spoilers for the show obviously)
I'd better stick to novelization then. Thanks for your relevant information.
