This timeline has such a soothing and nostalgic vibe. It was sheer magic back in the day. It's still enigmatic and it persists to this day.
I find it quite hard to incorporate TCW stories into this timeline. It's part of Disney canon now as they allowed to publish the last season. It just doesn't fit into Legends.
As Lucas never recognized EU as canon, I don't feel obliged to acknowledge Disney timeline entirely, although Disney has gone to great lengths to fill in the blanks when it comes to comics and novels(soon all gaps will be filled and that's a safe bet).
Well, if you want to be a SW fan these days, you actually have to accept Disney in its entirety. There's no way to cherry pick.
I'd really like to be flexible when it comes to SW as a whole, but Disney aimed to assert its dominance and they achieved their objective.
You can clearly see the current state of pop culture for what it is. And to paraphrase an intellectual- "History re-written by powerful leaders is tyranny."
