Mod review

For those with short attention spans: If you like half-life then you will probably like this mod. I give it a 7/10.

For those wondering about the escort mission: It's not that long and just like every other escort mission you tell that person to stay behind while you clear out the next area. She is not a super soldier whole crouch jumps, takes down helicopters and crowbars things to giblets. She comes into the picture about 2/3rds of the way into the mod. You can also heal her. The med packs are under the melee key and I believe they are infinite.

For those who want to hear some thoughts: It's a fun mod and has a decent length to it. It took me about six hours since it was my first half-life mod and I've only recently gotten into the half-life games. I never was confused on what to do or where to go because it is linear. That's okay with me. Parts that have multiple paths usually wrap around to previous areas which creates a believable level structure to me.

There are a lot of locked doors but doors you can open usually have some kind of indication. It might have blood splatter or a bloody hand print on or around it. Bars over the windows of the door can be seen through from a distance and aren't just blacked out. This doesn't just apply to doors either. There are a lot of little things to spot in this mod. I like that ****.

Some areas are reduced to just hallway fighting but theses hallways lead to something. It could be another big fight, or a cut scene and these hallways usually have side rooms with ammo and health. This helps with the good pacing.

During my six hour play through I used Xash3D and the 2.2 high definition models pack. I did have three crashes and I'm not sure if either of these are the culprit but I would still consider it a pretty stable mod. Three crashes in six hours of play ain't ****.

A few things to help you during this mod: When the lady you're escorting opens a door for you, you will have to tell her to follow you again. The holster animations seem to take a couple seconds (might be due to the model pack 2.2) so don't freak out when nothing is happening for a second. This next one is kind of spoilerish but I'm dumb and had to look this up. When you get to a glass box click the interact key while looking at one of the four little panels then press your fire button so you can shoot from it. I never saw this box in half-life. I might have just missed it while frantically shooting at **** during my first play through.

That's about it. Now to decide if I want to replay half-life again or play afraid of monsters DC.
