Sorry for taking so long to answer this, I don't check this page often - yes. I still plan to finish Sync. I don't know when it'll happen, but it will.

I don't know if I'd agree. I'm a big fan of Mass Effect, and I can't stand Gothic. I'm loving Nehrim. Certainly it's a different experience, but I think there's plenty here for fans of Western RPGs.
You definitely should have primary weapons. Not sure what could be causing that. Are you using a recent version of FSO? Did you follow the installation instructions in the readme? If so, one thing to try would be to create a new pilot and use that to play the campaign. Sometimes they get corrupted.
If that doesn't work, check your main FreeSpace folder for any .VP files that belong to other mods, and your data/tables/ folder for any .TBL files. If you find any, remove them. Often if the game tries to run more than one mod at once it'll get thunderously confused.
It's not voice acted yet, though, no.
Very promising. Is there any concern about the gradually decreasing support for mods, though? Fewer and fewer modern games are released with development tools. ModDB is one thing, but if one of the main points of attraction for a service like this is the user content it seems a little risky in the long-term.
Great concept, all the same. I've never had much interest in non-Steam digital distributors, but this has piqued my interest. Best of luck.
By the way, to clarify - the fix isn't included in the other .vp's because cruiser01x.pof is a hi-poly version of the Leviathan. Normally the game just uses the same model as the Fenris, but the hi-poly one is a seperate model, so if it's not found then the game coughs up an error. In case you're wondering, the cruiser01x.pof (and other hi-poly versions of FS ships) are included in this VP file.
I've uploaded a fix for that error to modDB. Once it's been verified it'll be available here, until then you can download it here.
If you look at the description for the download, it says: 'Requires recent build of FS Open (as of July 2005)'. So yes. This campaign would not have been possible without the SCP.
Everything's squashed up and harder to read, the tab system doesn't seem to do anything except force the information that used to be all on one page onto several pages. The colour scheme sucks although that's not so much of a problem when themes start showing up. Overall it seems to be quite poorly thought out compared to V1 and V2, a big step down in functionality really.
Argh. This looks like rubbish. All the information in the mod profiles is way too cluttered and messy. Not to mention the terrible colour scheme...
That's caused by a data table conflict. It shouldn't happen if you follow the installation instructions in the readme. Put the Sync VP in its own folder and create a shortcut to the FS2 Open exe and in the commandline type '-mod (name of the folder you put the Sync VP in)' without the quotes.
Are you loading it with the -mod commandline?
I'm pretty sure the mod directory isn't meant to be absolute, so try just using -mod Sync and see if that works.
Only voted once at the moment.
At first I hated it, but I don't mind it now. It's more unique compared to the millions of dark sites.
Ergh, I just realised how many times I used 'now' in that news post. *bangs head on desk*
Yes, some publicly released ones. Nothing unique to the campaign though.
Possibly my all time favourite game. Bloody classic.
I wonder if the icons will ever be fixed.
This looks like having loads of potential, can't wait to see what comes of it now that Doom 3 is almost here.
