How many more zombie mods do we need?!
How many more zombie mods do we need?!
Well, nothing makes it any different because I'm not looking to innovate anything. I just want to make a neat 6 level add-on and without pretentious claims. My mod's motive and the recent award that I disagree with, have no connection.
It's just a clash of thinking which can be prevalent anywhere really, but I've decided not to stick around here, because it bugs me.
"Talk bout favorites how can moddb give a mod an award when half of there staff has helped with the development of the mod."
Really? Ouch... now the situation looks sillier.
Well I appreciate you being honest and civil in our disagreements.
I don't think the mod is so original, so I don't feel it deserves the originality award. ANOTHER award, however - most likely. But ultimately that is just my opinion and as a ModDB viewer/member it ultimately, unfortunately, has no bearing.
I've seen hulky, metal-armor-wearing-big-gun-toting badasses in many games um let's see... all the Unreal games pretty much...
How in the hell would Dystopia get an originality award? It looks well done but the cyberpunk core is not new! That is some seriously bad judgement.*
*Of which, of course is my opinion and not a personal attack.
I hope i can run this on the pocket quake for the psp.
Possible, but not sure, as System 4 uses custom HUD/GUI graphics - so if the PSP port keeps everything in PAKs and allows mods, it should run - but I have no idea how well.
looking forward to trying this one my Mac !
It will work, but I'm not aware of a Mac port that retains fullbrights. Fullbrights are some of the lighting textures you see in the screenshots. In normal Gl-Quake, these light textures are nowhere near as vibrant, but dull. The PC Quake engine I use is merely a modified GL-Quake, with bug fixes and working gamma support - and beautiful fullbrights -- Celephais.net
Unfortunately that doesn't help those of you on a Mac. So, you may end up not seeing certain light textures (even light textures you NEED to see, maybe a button) if you do not have a Quake engine that shows fullbrights. WinQuake, on the other hand, does show them. But with some of the maps, you will need to up your r_maxedges and r_maxsurfs in the console, if you're using WinQuake.
But "you guys" is just me :)
Yeah, but the way I see it is -- say a guy hasn't played 'insert-old-game-here' in a long time, it's too old to interest him. Then a mod comes out but it makes the game look just as enticing as it was when it came out - and it's something they would play, but since they filtered that game out, they don't know about it. Bummer!
While it's a welcome feature, what if say -- person hasn't chosen a game that they didn't really like - whether it was old and they never played it, or just a game they never got into - but a mod comes out and gets their interest in that game... then theres a problem.
The first map is generally brown, yes - the 2nd one and some onwards have a more general, blueish theme.
"Pro gaming" is a joke. Sure you can make money, but it ain't no football, basketball, baseball.
"check the site url, its MODdb.com not MP3db.com"
That is so very ignorant, because mods don't have music, no sir.
Not necessarily newsworthy alone, so I'm commenting here.

Eh I didn't write the script for nothin! ;)
"Phait I think you can host music because modders usally get people do do themes for there mods."
Yeah, I'm sure you could host music here - but there's no definite section for it - it would make sense to go under Media, rather than say General/Other.
Awesome!
One suggestion so far: under MEDIA, add Music
Is that a Frank Miller drawing? Really looks like it -- which of course, wouldn't be Copyrighted to the team. But if it's original it's quite Frank Miller inspired. Not a bad thing.
The head is too big. The legs are iffy - they seem a tad long (the shin bones from knee to ankle - compare to your femur ) Otherwise looks like a good start.
Nice drawing, very detailed and relatively clean and sharp. A couple things though that you might want to be aware to not carry over into modeling. The top half of the head isn't big enough for his face - at least it seems so, I think because of his face features. It's either that, or his eyes and nose could be moved down a bit - mostly the nose and mouth. Lastly, his jaw (his right side as we see) is oddly shaped coming from the left of the chin -- it looks like he has a goiter. Hey maybe he does, I don't know :P But keep these couple things in mind and you could have a real nice model!
Very nice model. Although, if he isnt' wearing a shirt, his back shouldn't be barely hanging over the back of his pants - unless he has some fat there. I suppose it's still in progress - I don't see much definition in the abdomen area. Even if there isn't going to be, from what I can see it looks like 2 horizontal muscle areas instead of 6 (abs). The fingers also seem a bit too big - it's that or the thin wrists. Otherwise very nice!
