"Friends" is one of those all-inclusive words that not only means people you were buddies with, but acquaintances that you've met in Op4, such as Otis. These "friends" survived the initial Combine invasion and oppression pretty much the same way Barney, Eli, Kleiner, and Alyx did: hiding in places and/or going undercover.

As to how many years, it's the same number of years as the time between HL1 and HL2 (i.e. 10-20 years).

To be honest, I don't do much, although I'm working on some (bad) concept art right now. :redface:

hot just handed the mod over too me. I know I asked for it, but I wasn't expecting it so soon. :p I was hoping to learn a little Hammer (which I really haven't had time to do right now because of school) and maybe some modelling, but nope.

So, mainly, I'm too busy to do anything except try to help the team get the mod out sometime before 2032. :p Seems like they're doing pretty good without me though.

In all seriousness, we haven't discussed what to do with this guy yet. I imagined him doing both walking on all fours and his two hind legs, but that may change to just one of them. We really don't know yet. :p

The story hot posted on HL2.net is pretty much obsolete now. I wouldn't worry about it.

As for the concept art: I don't feel we need "uber" concept art. As long as the team members and the public get a general idea of what we're doing, that's all that matters.

And, yes, I know of Black Mesa: Source. It's on the top of my "Mods to Get" list. ;)
