Imho a well polished, fresh and pleasant looking longplayer
with great mapping throughout. Difficulty on medium is a
notch harder than usual but that is to be expected from a mod. The player needs a bit of a challenge. Personaly i find it well balanced, except the last Xen levels.
Somehow this mod doesnt work. It runs fine until the elevator whith the
zombies. A reload results in loss of all weapons except the ice pick.
Well, despite the patch this mod doesnt work like i played it years ago.
Its completly of balance to the point of unplayability even on easy.
After a longer absence i started playing HL2 SP mods again recently and
im realy impressed with this one. Nice gameplay, well built locations, good
atmosphere and a satisfactory playlenght.
Imho the mod seems to be a bit f`ed up by the latest SP SDK and needs
a fix. The mod is based on SDK 2007.
Unbelievable this just got barely 700 downloads since release. Its a very well
done one lvl mod.
Weirdly i had problems running it with the GOG version, but it runs flawless
with the Maximum Edition DVD version. Both in 64Bit.
Yeah, agree 100%. As a decently skilled FPS player you can rush through
this level with ease. Which is kinda sad given the obvious big effort
who went into this lvl and how skillful and clean it is put together.
So,i guess this map was, like so many others, never finished.
I wonder why its still online, after being dead for a decade....
This is BS. The startmap of the mod isnt even in the archive.....
This map drowns a bit in its own gigantism and feels kinda unfinished and unoptimised, despite its version number. It definitly lacks in action and
challenge and pretty quickly developes into a walking simulator.
On the other side it offers a well crafted large landscape and shows on what scale a solid running 64Bit Crysis map wouldve been. Sadly Crytek stopped
patching and updating pretty early for this game and on top effectivly killed
the modding scene around it with "community management" in a truly machiavellish
move.
Downloaded it a while ago, before it was downed.
The mod is in russian and resets all keys to standart...
Exellent map that facilitates all what Crysis has to offer gameplaywise.
This mod is clearly unfinished. The first level "ambush" is actually a nice one.
And well,i bet you guessed it,its the same one from the demo.
The second level "cargo" is a decent one. "cave","avalanche" and "airfield" are all unplayable. You can start them from the console and see for yourself.
So i wonder why would anyone would give this a top rating.
Well, just to inform ppl who might be interested in playing the other maps of
Project Alliance. You can download them on this russian gamesite: Playground.ru
If im correct there are 6 parts with 7 levels: Project Alliance 1-5 and Fall of
the Alliance.
BTW: They are all maps, not mods,so they go into the levels folder, not in the mods
folder.
Great to see Crysis modding is still alive - and that extensive work is done
on "AI" behaviour. A thing that is evaded far to often and degraded otherwise
very well made maps to barely average gameplaywise.
Imho it is commendable that even today there is a little bit life in the once large "modding community" for Crysis. This three reimagined levels came a long way but finaly one can play them for example with the Tactical Expansion mod which makes them a blast to play.
Personaly i count Beachtales to the "battlemaps" like Calm Island Tagoria or the way lesser known Coralsea.
There are just minimal objectives and scripted events and rest is up to the player which is exactly what Crysis does best: core gameplay one against an army. However, much left to be desired of "AI" pathing
here. Too many KPA are cornering or run against obstacles.
Just played a couple hours freeplay today and i have to agree with
yoshjoz. It is WAY to easy, loot is WAY to much, dealers pay full price
for 50% weapons and suits. One get rich very quick. Additionaly the
weapons upgrades are no longer tied with the toolsets. So the player
can get a fully upgraded weapon and armor in half a hour gameplay.
Count in the very easy to find artifacts with partly allround positive
properties and the player is a invincible tank with faster sprint than
normal in less than a hour. And that in master difficulty.
Also played this for hours on my old Win7/64 PC. Runs smooth (DX9 and DX11) and looks realy good. No objections from my side on the HUD. Although its to easy
for me. Its more of a sight seeing tour than a challenge. There was a update mentioned in a older posting to make the game a couple notches harder....
