I remember I had that issue too, what fixed it for me was deleting the Doom 64 wad file created by the installer and running it again and deleting the old save files. I also remember deleting the config file to make a new one. One of these 3 can fix the issue.
Yeah just tested it on 3.9.1 with the vulkan renderer, it flashes white for like half a second before the screen turns red and it melts, to be exact its more like the colors get inverted (like when you get the invul) for a frame.
For now just gonna disable the melting effect.
Ok so I've been wondering if anyone knows this, when in Dread Point (that Zgrunt factory), there's area with a huge lake of instakill liquid and to the other side a bridge which you can actually go to, You need to go back to the start of the open area after doing a certain thing (im pretty sure you have to break that blockade with the tram thing), after going back a closed door opens and let you go to that area you could see beyond the lake.
Then It sends you to this different route where you see some soldiers breaking out of those barrels and start fighting with the aliens and of course you. Its similar to how it was in Half Life, just a lot harder.
Been wondering how many people know about this route, i'ts one of those weird details this mod has, similar to just how hard to notice the alt route to the water area is in Recesion.

I do have to ask, does this works with Residual life? Cus I believe that mod could help with a Low Res pack as well.
