I have literally lost interest in the base game because of how amazing this mod is. That's how good it is.
Take my advice, just get it. Oh and make sure to visit the citidel website where they host this mod's submods, which make it even better and more fun.
At first, I wasn't exactly sure how better the game would be with this mod. Oh, how wrong I was. This mod makes an already amazing game, SO SO much better. The game is so amazing now, and so much more fun. I can't even describe it, it's just better. Most definitely recommended, try it and I guarantee you'll love it
